Elle - OFFER: Adagio Masters Pu Erh 1/2 Sample Tin

by Elle » Apr 30th, '11, 15:55

My first and probably last taste of Pu Erh, got as part of the sampler assortment in Jan 2011 - it wasn't bad but I don't think I'm going to be cultivating the "acquired taste".

Terms: Trade only, equivalent amount of any good black or dark oolong. Each person responsible for their own shipping through US Mail.

I have to say -- don't give up on pu yet, because Adagio's offerings are hardly the best out there. Far from it, in fact, in my short experience with their teas.

I hear ya, but if I hadn't gotten this as part of a sampler set I probably wouldn't have tried it at all - the descriptions I hear of Pu Erh in general don't sound really appetizing to me, especially given the expense. If I'm going to splurge on really expensive tea I'd as soon go for high-end Yunann, or Japanese green, or such.

Puerh is a tad diverse to make an opinion on some not especially compelling leaves.

But Pu Erh is one of the least expensive teas to get good quality. If you want to try a good shu pu, get a V93 tuo, a 2010 one can be had for $3.95 + shipping (hardly a bank breaker for 100grams of tea).
