On a long-ago Chinatown NY tea stock-up, I was able to get bags of Yamamotoyama Green Kukicha that looked very similar to this:

It was in the >$5 bag range. I loved it, it became my everyday tea. Does anyone have any tips for inexpensive kukicha I could use as a replacement? I don't like the roasted kind very much, and that's mostly what I see. My wallet needs a break after Shincha orders
Re: Budget Kukicha?
This is probably as budget as you can get

I bet you can win the bid with around 10-15 bucks. I really wonder where this guy gets his tea
Or for some guaranteed quality you can go to zencha.net $20 for 200g (free shipping), or yuukicha $8/100g (no free shipping)
I drink the yuuki one when its around, probably my favourite kukicha I have tried so far and very good value
