bryan_drinks_tea WANTED: 2007 Yong De organic old tree shu

by bryan_drinks_tea » May 20th, '11, 15:08

Hi everyone.

I have been unable to find the 2007 yong de organic old tree shu pu originally sold at norbu teas. I loved the sample I got but couldn't find it anywhere else, especially on taobao, where I was hoping to get it for cheap. Is anyone willing to sell me a few cake or at least point me in the direction of a taobao vendor who has them?

thanks,

Bryan

Jas e tea is out of stock of the 2008, however.

I don't know about shu, but Mengku and Yong De make very similar sheng tea. Might want to try this: http://www.jas-etea.com/products/2008-M ... grams.html

Also, I have a few cakes of Mengku and Yong De sheng if you are interested.

Just get the 2009 and let it sit, from Yunnan Sourcing. The '09 are more or less as ready to drink as the Dayis. At $12, buy the tong, and you're set.

i love yunnan sourcing, but i'm not paying 12 bucks for a cake that I can get from the same area for four dollars and something.

I don't really think that makes sense, but oh well... Here's Taobao...

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8100556276 2006 $25 before fees/ship/hand

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8100362734 2005 $28

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=6089825586 2009 $8

There is only one store on Taobao that does Yongde Ziyu, and the quality is specific to Yongde Ziyu Cha Chang, which is much better than any Lincang shu I've ever had before, and it's definitly better than shu by bigger names like Guanzizai of Hailanghao. As you can see above, you will not get that tea for less than what Scott offers at YS. You will not get an alternative tea from a different company (and four bucks is currently in the range of nasty stuff, not Nanjian or Lancang/Langhe). More than that, Yongde Ziyu is actually getting some note as a superior supplier of shu in the Chinese teasphere. That tea will not stay cheap. Now, have I made it clear to you that you can be stubborn all you want, but you will not get the purchase price? Moreover, could I make it clear that if you decide to go the Taobao route, you should get extras 'cause you'll almost certainly be able to sell them at a profit here at some point?
