Greetings and welcome to a new TeaDay once again. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day ... and discuss today's topic.

I might be able to drink the same tea for about a week, but the longer I go, the more I'm in danger of TeaDrifting (as per yesterday's discussion).

I could possibly drink the same tea every day if I had the opportunity to drink a rotating cycle of teas as well. So for example, if I always drank X in the morning, I could tolerate that if I had variety in the afternoon.

In any case, I don't think I'll be falling into a TeaRut anytime soon. I've got a choice of 6 oolongs here at work for the morning cycle, and 3 greens for the afternoon cycle, and who-knows-what in the evening...

But whatever your choice, may you all have a great cup of tea...!

I need variation, only one type would probably be boring after a while. This morning I've had matcha, aged yancha, a gaiwan-full of Huo Shan Huang Ya (first time I taste this nice yellow tea) and some sun-dried sheng buds (from a YS sample).

I probably could drink one tea day in, day out, for a long time--I used to do almost that--but I wouldn't unless under considerable duress. And I couldn't do it with just any tea.

Today, starting with some Tai Ping Hou Kui from Jing Tea Shop. Mmmm.

I couldn't drink the exact same tea at all hours for weeks, but I do have a fairly predictable tea routine that doesn't change much:

I like to start out the day with a bowl of matcha (time-permitting), of which I've been sticking to one type lately, and then I drink a few pots of sencha in the afternoon, of which I only have two different kinds to choose from. At work, it's a tea surprise from samples, if any; lately I've been drinking water now that the weather is warm again. When I come home, I crave an oolong tea, usually a Wuyi, but I'm currently loving on Miyazaki Baisen from Yuuki-Cha which is also fairly roasted.

I usually break my cycle on the weekends when I'm going out or have someone to drink tea with. That's when the blacks, herbals, or Korean greens may make an appearance. Free time means more time for tea. :mrgreen:

Today I'm still working on my okuyutaka sencha, which is pretty much my daily sencha pick.

Yes totally, am used to doing that as when I travel I take one type and will drink it for a month and not even think about it, has to be superb quality and if I need a change I punish myself with a diet coke!!!!!

Well, I guess I could do it if I had to, it's better to have the same tea than no tea...

But I love variety and I love selecting my next tea from a few good candidates that suit my current mood. So I would really miss the selection...

For example, today I had some Darjeeling together with breakfast (robust taste to go together with food), at work I drank several steeps of some budget Tie Guan Yin (great aroma, very nice to relax a little), and right now I'm at home reading online forums with 7 grams of Mi Lan Dan Cong in a 100 mL gaiwan, so this should last for the whole evening...

I pretty much do drink the same tea every day, especially at work, because all I have at work are Taiwanese high mountain oolongs. Well, I also have some jasmine pearls and a Taiwanese green, but I always choose the oolong. I just love the tea so much, it is always my first choice. But drinking the same type every day will bore your taste buds, so I do try to switch occasionally. Like today, in fact. I'm at home today and I still had some asamushi sencha (Shin-ryoku from Den's) left over from the OTTI, so I am drinking that and really enjoying it. Love that sencha scent.

If pressed, sure! I could drink the same tea, day in and day out.

But like others have already said, why? With such a vast tea world, full flavors and expanding in exciting new kinds all the time, might as well take advantage of all there is to offer!

Sipping on some ice LaoShan green this evening. I'd forgotten how refreshing and creamy that can be!

If I had to drink the same tea day in and day out, a good quality matcha would be my choice. Even with matcha though, the same one over and over would get old. It's the best I could make out of a bad scenario, though :shock:

. Hopefully I would at least be able to try different types of matcha?!

I am a fan of different taste experiences, and as such I think if I were restricted to only one tea for an extended length of time, I would likely loose interest, and end up drinking a lot less tea.
