Chinese green tea similar to sencha

I was wondering if anyone knows of a chinese or other variety that tastes like japanese sencha.

Dragonwell and silver needle are not even close.

There are Japanese style teas being grown in Brazil and Africa to take advantage of lower costs there...I don´t know how good they are or where to find them at retail though.

I seem to recall a Lu An Gua Pian and a Zhu Ye Qing that were remarkably veggie and if blindfolded, you might think is a pretty good asamushi. Perhaps this is why these two are in my current fave 4 Chinese greens.

My other 2, Long Jing and Tai Ping Hou Kui, I do not recall any semblance to sencha.

I don't think anything really tastes like fuka, except fuka.

Wellll, good question. The ones I had from TeaSpring were not organic as I recall. But perhaps they are available somewhere in organic form.

Hm, Mighty Leaf has had some less than stellar reviews.

Here is a 2011 Cha Wang (Tea King grade) version of Lu An Gua Pian! Not cheap, but I bet it is stellar!

EDIT: and there are a bunch of organic versions of Zhu Ye Qing. So skip the McD's SweetTea!.

No comment on McDonald's, but more and more studies are coming out showing that if you can handle the caffeine in coffee it is actually very healthy itself. Whether or not it is healthier than tea has yet to be seen, but from what I have seen the coffee studies seem much more definitive, as they are actually studying people that have coffee drinking habits and the chances they contract certain diseases, something which I have yet to see done with Tea.
