Sorry to hear you've joined the "outlived your father" club. I joined a little over a year ago. Not that the alternative "parent who outlived their child" club would be preferable, but funny how none of the membership of either appears to have volunteered. The vitality of this forum convinces me that I'm not alone in my sympathy for your loss. Best of luck in coping with it and please know that I am also not the only one grateful to you for your role in the wonderful resource that is Teachat.

I would also like to thank everyone who supported Chip during this time. Your posts here and the PMs he received were a comfort to him in his time of need.

It is nice to be a part of a 'TeaCommunity' where we all have a common bond. However, it is nicer to know that this 'TeaCommunity" is much more than that. It is a place where friends gather and care for one another, give comfort and support when needed. You all have accomplished this for Chip this past week.

To quote a famous TCer ...
Thank you kindly.

After being away on vacation (and not taking my laptop), I came home around midnight last night expecting to have a great deal to catch up on with email, Facebook, and of course TeaChat. I was so sad to discover the passing of your father, and I so regret not being online/available to offer you my condolences and support sooner. Please know my heart is with you both, and your family. Watching my parents age, have illnesses, and approach this inevitable conclusion is one of the hardest of life's challenges... and is fortunately balanced with a lifetime of love, joy, and memories that have made me truly rich and blessed. I can't imagine the day I will have to endure this loss, and wish you strength and peace as you work through the process.

Sarah
