Heya
Hey, hello, how do you do... and all that jazz.
I hate intro type posts, so I'll try to make this quick and painless.
Just joined after wasting the better part of my work day googling green tea, of which I have been a long time drinker. Sadly to say, of the bag variety (although I always enjoy a cup of macha with sushi)... and usually iced since the climate in AZ isn't exactly conducive to hot tea drinking for a good 9 months out of the year. (The best iced tea ever (imo), and which I am drinking at this very moment,= 1 teabag jasmine infused green steeped with 1 teabag herbal mint tea)
I just inherited a nice tea set from my parents, and since I've always been intrigued by loose leaf variety, and since it is FINALLY under 90 degrees and thus prime hot-tea-drinking weather I've decided to do a little expirimenting. I ordered a green tea sampler from Adagio, as well as a box of blooming tea flowers (because they're pretty and novel and I'm a sucker), so, we'll see how that goes.
I have to admit it's slightly daunting, considering that currently my tea drinking regimen consists of only two steps (i.e. 1- boil water 2- pour in cup with teabag). I had no idea there were so many methods and intricacies involved in the process.
That was longer than I meant it to be. Oh well, c'est la vie.
By the way, I happened to glance over at the side chat as I was typing this and LOLed at the Soilent Green tea. It reminded me of a line from Futurama:
FRY: What if the secret ingredient is people?
LEELA: No, there's already a soda like that. Soylent Cola.
FRY: Oh. How is it?
LEELA: It varies from person to person.

There are a few of us here now. I've only been around for about two weeks, but these are some good peeps, lemme tell ya. Everyone is very helpful, and the chat is a blast. Oh, and very helpful. *laughs*

Thanks for the welcomes!
I will most definitely do that. Especially once I get my sampler of greens in.

Futurama = Win.
Atypical, all you need now is a couple Firefly quotes, a little more tea and you'll be one of us.
One of us.
One of us.
One of us.
One of us.
Also, resistance is futile.

Welcome, girl...I'm in Phoenix, too...AND a newbie to loose tea.
Isn't this (relatively) cool weather great?
I actually had 3 drops of rain on the patio this morning!
Sharon
I know...."What's rain???"

"For watching Futurama, you will burn in a special kind of hell. A hell normally reserved for child molesters and people who talk in the theatre."
