I would say Pre Qingming Longjing ftw.
At first I still preferred sencha but now the longjing has grown on me too. Both have their own charms.

I would have to admit that this is a tough call for me. July was definitely a Shincha, sencha, gyokuro month ... oh, and let's not forget the matcha!
YM is always at the top of the list, but Miyabi gave it a run for the money this time. The distinct aroma and the undeniably delicious flavor of YM, beat out the Miyabi by just a hair this month.
The Kame gyokuro was also right there, if I could drink this daily, I would!
Have a TEAriffic weekend everyone.

My tea of the month is the Gu Zhu Zi Sun Zhejiang green tea from Norbu that I've been enjoying the past few days.
Before this sample arrived and bowled over my taste buds, I would have said the Jin Guan Yin I'd opened a couple of weeks before, but this green, as brewed in my Petr Novak Shibo, was revelatory rather than incrementally better than similar greens I'd had before.

I had two new teas this month;
YM generously shared w/me by Chip and Mrs. Chip was the first green I actually could drink without envisioning water poured over rank grass!!!! It had a nice feel on the palate, and lingering, pleasant taste! Go
!
Red Leaf Earl Grey Lavender -- a very surprisingly tasty Earl Grey. Will be a nice change every so often.

It's a toss-up for me this month between matcha and pu-erh. I love both, I've been drinking both a lot this month, both are insanely tasty... So I've got two winners.
Shoumei white tea all day today, with a lot of iced green tea in between, and I mean a lot. Apparently I got insanely dehydrated yesterday (but I feel much better now, wooooo!

I don't have a stand out favorite for July, but it was a month of variety for me. Trying Korean greens, Chinese greens and sampling the OTTI 10 Shinchas was a lot of fun. I did enjoy a 2009 Winter Li Shan oolong from Fragrant Cup tea that was very nice, so it was a great month of tea drinking. I just finished trying the Uji Asamushi from OTTI 10 and now am going to try a sample of Spring 2011 Li Shan oolong from FLT

I've been ice brewing lots of green tea this month. My apartment's primitive wiring will blow of fuse if I use my Breville while the air conditioners are on.

Busy day today, dealing with the 'roadrage incident'.
Started the day with Sakimidori from the O-C, served up in Tempest.
Next up Uji organic matcha in a perfect corylum chawan. Finishing the day with iced SLT.

A temomicha from Kaburagien was my tea-of-the-month by a HUGE margin -- nothing else came close. This tea was made by made by Mr. Masafumi Oiwa in Gifu Shirakawa. It showed the most dramatic contrast between bitter and sweet, and between assertive and delicate of any tea that I have tasted.
This is one of the great teas that I have had the good fortune to taste, and it is less than half the cost of Sugimoto's temomicha.
P.S. It is surprising that some drivers are such idiots when driving near bicycles or even motorcycles. Their licenses should be revoked.
