auhckw: KLP 3 – 1980s Di Cao Qing Teapots

by auhckw » Aug 3rd, '11, 08:27

As some of you are aware, here in Malaysia we have access to a wide variety of tea and teawares. It is fun to enjoy this ‘luxury’. So I decided to extend my experience and purchase options with TeaChatters via this KLP (Kuala Lumpur Project).

When I come across an interesting tea, I will post the info up. The tea that I select in the KLP will be of something good at least to the tea drinkers (customers) in the shop and also my seniors. So, if you are interested to buy, let me know. I will do it in a bulk order so that I can safe my traveling time and cost to collect it.

Besides the KLP item, if you come across something that I have tasted or purchased and wished to know more. Feel free to PM me and I will try to get the details for you.

I am NOT a Seller and don’t do this for a living. I’m doing this as a hobby to share tea interest and fun. That said, I do not wish to do this at a lost, so I have markup a little to include packaging, paypal charges, bank charges and currency difference.

Some of you have PM-ed me to look for older small/medium sized teapots and so I have asked around...

Today, a tea shop owner called me saying that a private collector is dropping by from another state (5 hours drive), and he is letting go 5 different design of 1980s Di Cao Qing teapots from his own private collection. This is the same private collector (through the tea shop) that sold me this teapot: http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 25#p203634

I managed to meet the private collector. He said in the 1980s, these teapots are special ordered by a Taiwanese based on old designs. The private collector has personally kept it for more than 10 years. He said it used to be very cheap but over the years as it is getting harder to find and sought-after, price went up.

So here are the 1980s olden beauties:
Image
*Sorry about my lousy camera white balance, the colour is a bit off in the picture

I have looked at the teapots and they looked good. As these are old teapots, don’t expect it to be a perfect workmanship grade kind of teapot.

I have not made purchase to any of the teapots, but I have told the tea shop owner to help reserve it before releasing it to public eyes. I told him I have friends abroad who are looking for it, and so the tea shop owner agrees to hide for me till 7th August 2011 (Sunday). He has to hide as these kinds of 1980s oldies can be sold out quite fast.

This is limited, those interested please PM-me before the item is sold out. Payment methods would be Paypal.

If you are interested, please PM me:
-Which Teapot?
-Name
-Address
-Contact Number
-Quantity

BIG NOTE: I am not an expert in clay and I am not qualified to tell whether that is real or fake, but the assurance that I can give is the tea shop owner is an honest and religious guy. If he finds fault in the teaware or tea, he will openly tell it first before selling.

The tea shop owner was saying B and E would be the fastest to go if he opens up for public viewing.

I think A would be the slowest to go for the size and slower pouring. Still a good pot, but not for young raw. Can easily over brew the tea.

I like D a lot. Reminds me of the Japanese export pots from back in the day. Not in my budget right now, but thanks for extending the offer! :D

I went and bought DCQ - C and DCQ - E already :)

Btw, among the 5, D is the most heaviest. Don't know why.
