I can see it now... 80 years from now, they'll be talking about the day some guy brought in foreign flora that has taken over the countryside...IPT wrote:They remind me of crunching through the frozen snow in the dead of winter with the crisp frigid air and snow covering everything. They really bring back a lot of memories. I wonder if I could grow birch trees in Guilin? Would that not be lovely?night.owl wrote:And IPT, those are absolutely adorable! Reminds me of summer mornings at the lake, listening to the bullfrogs, and smelling the scent of the woods on the water...

Haha! I do not think that they would survive here in the wild. The soil is hard clay and it is too wet. It would have to be grown in a pot. It might start a new trend though. Birch Bonsai.

Thanks IPT! I have been admiring this one!!! I found some 2000 vintage crane canisters with supect tea in them ... but the canisters are nice enough.IPT wrote:I was digging through the vault for some old puer I knew I had stashed away and found this tea tin. I believe it dates back to the 80s. It was black with oil and soot when I found it, so it was protected from the very hig humidity we have in Guilin and is in pretty good shape. I know how much you like crane's and tea tins Chip, so I had to post photos for you.
Beautiful wares everyone as usual! Thanks for sharing!

New Cory Lum cup in-da-house!!! I'm totally in love with this one and have been using it all day. This Hagi inspired glaze is wonderful, my phone pic does not do it justice. It's very phototropic, seeming to change color in different light. Thank you Cory

I got a sister cup for my first "melting snow". I've been drinking a lot of iced tea this summer, and this cups feels especially nice cold.

My three latest tea-bowls from a local artist Tracie Griffith Tso. http://www.inksart.com/ It's hard to say which one I like best, but right now I'm leaning toward the hummingbird!

Very nice! Those remind me of some of my favorite Chinese paintings--must be lovely to drink tea from them.

You can contact her. She is very open to custom orders and is very friendly. I have custom ordered a birch branch bud vase from her as well. I cannot wait for that.Victoria wrote:Really awesome IPT, I seriously want that flared cup!
