Would there be sufficient air present within the sealed golden packaging and/or the canister to age the tea properly? Or would the lack of air flow actually improve the aging process for these smaller quantities of loose tea? Or, because the tea is loose and no longer will benefit from being part of a pressed cake or basket, is the sealed packaging helpful to preserve and protect flavors?
The best result of aging it is in the entire basket untouched with the wrapping. In years to come, the taste of untouched vs opened will be different.

But having loose, it will also change. The end result of aging can be very different depending on how you store it and where you store it. How to store it? You can follow the methods of storing Puerh in your country.

In teashops where they sell opened baskets, they will normally transfer the liu-pao into big urns/jars. Some will just leave it opened without closing. It seems ok for our weather here.

Keeping it sealed will definitely slow down the aging and preserve the flavor. But I don't think that is what you want, unless you like the current flavor and want to slow down the changes.

The golden packaging is not vacuum sealed. I asked her not too, leaving air in it so that it can still change further. If at one point of time you really don't want it to change, you can vacuum sealed it.

Btw, the canister that is provided is made of paper inside and plastic cover. As you know, plastic can have a smell. It is ok for now, since the golden packing is sealed. But once opened, ideally don't use the canister that is provided. Find something that doesn't have smell at all for best result.

KLP 1 and KLP 2 orders are packed and should be sent out tomorrow. I didn't expect to send out this early, but I think the order is enough for the first round.

Doing such bulk for the first time, I did a mistake about estimating weights. Tea + Box does not equal to the weight to be sent. I have forgot to include the weight for Canister, Paper Inside the box to fill it up, Additional Samples and Wrapping.

Once I send it, I will let you know the Tracking number and the postage difference. This is my fault, so I take responsibility of it but if you feel like paying I am fine also :)

I'm looking forward for you guys to receive it and hearing your comments.

For those that are still interested, this KLP is still available as the price and stock are still available.

First bulk is sent today (31st July 2011). According to them it will take up to 3 weeks. I will be providing the tracking number to those that participated via PM soon.

For those that did not make it on first bulk, there are still stocks. If you want to try, Next bulk postage will be by next weekend or earlier. So if you are interested, PM me

I received the package yesterday containing my KLP 1 and 2 purchases. I decided to try the Liu-Pao today. It's very good....rich flavors yet very smooth and easy to drink...there is a sweetness present. I'm on my 4th infusion now and it has the same color and flavors as the first cup only lighter. It's enjoyable to drink.

Thank you for facilitating these purchases auhckw. I will try the 1997 CNNP Wild Yiwu Camphor (Zhang Xiang) Raw Puerh tomorrow.

The canister that is provided by the tea seller has a paper (inside) /plastic (cover) smell. Open and air the canister. If you intend to use it, tie the packet before putting it back into the canister. I only use the canister for sealed tea, once open I will change it to another canister.

Btw, once you received the tea... let it sit for a few days so that it can adjust to your environment. You can try it the first day it arrives and 1 week later... there may be some different :)

My tea is on the way from the post office as I sit here and type. I don't think I can wait an entire week for the first test, but I'll try to wait until this afternoon.

I'm a relative newcomer to puer so I don't have a regular method for brewing ripe puer. I welcome advice for getting started with this one.
