Which ever one I happen to be drinking from at that given time.

Usually Japanese, but may be Korean, Chinese, or American.

My current favorite tea cup was made by Michael Coffee (shyrabbit) with his "interrupted" glaze. I've been filling it with iced greens, and I like how it sweats. I haven't taken a picture of it myself yet, but here's one from the Michael's listing.

See the bump on the right of the center? It's the perfect spot for my thumb. It's been my favorite cup for the entire month since it arrived.

I had some Korean sejak matcha this morning, the last of my Assam melody sample and iced Jeju orchid green at work, and now I'm enjoying some iced Baizen oolong while I catch up on some shows and surf Teachat. :D

My current favorite cup is the thin celadon summer cup I bought in Japan a few years ago. It holds a bit more than 100 mL, feels very delicate and nice in the hands and is a joy to drink from:

The mesemerizing cracles have developed nice color on the inside, they are translucent on the outside:

In the cup: Lao Cong Shiu Xian from Wan Ling teahouse, very nice for a rainy afternoon...

Thanks Karma and Bob for coloring our TeaDay!

Amazingly, this is easier for me to answer than the teapot question over the weekend. Although it changes quite often.

CURRENT fave teacup is "Sendai," Hagi SSO 15 ... reaching for this more mornings than not since receiving it. Morning sencha and a reminder of all the people in Japan who continue to suffer to this day. If the clouds and rain finally go away, I will try to take a photo.

Began the TD with Miyabi original in Sendai with the Mrs. Next up, Hana No Kaori.

It is really difficult to choose a favourite from my cups, but at least the Sendai is the favourite of my Japanese cups. And then there are the beautiful cups from TeaChat artisans like Cory, Petr, Bill, Shawn, Michael, all of them favourites too...

My current favorite is this little cup that I got at Mitsuwa Marketplace in New Jersey. It has the names of every US President in English and Japanese as well as the years they were in office. Also, there are a few (rather hilariously bad) portraits of some of the presidents.

Had a lot of pu-erh this morning, a lot of iced green tea this afternoon despite it being fairly chilly here today, and I'm currently sipping on a pau d'arco tisane. It's the last of that package, I ought to go and buy some more...

Thanks HerbMaster for coloring our TD!

Finished the day with Sejak Korean green.

Currently iced SLT with a touch of honey.

Just too hard to pick, stony texture or translucent silkiness, crystaline sharpness or softness over coarse clay....deep or wide, thick or delicate, depends on mood, tea brewing temp, size and speed of infusions....

Today, I suffered the sadness of the plastic thermos lid cup. I need to commission a custom-built cup to fit between the outer and inner lids of my thermoses so I can avoid "sad plastic teacup syndrome".

The SeaDyke TKY, however, being a basic and sturdy tea, was not snobbish at all about the simple cup.

Right now, as I'm baptizing it with a brewing of white bud sheng puerh, this new "summer galaxy" cup by Tetsuaki Nakao is my favorite cup....originally a sake cup, repurposed for tea. It is so thin-walled that I have to let the tea cool off a bit before I can pick it up to sip from it (so it's not going to be an every-day cup), but it makes a lovely combination with this tea nevertheless, especially the transformation of the pale crystals into gold as viewed through the tea.

Nice! I have to say my Nakao "Spring" is one of my favs right now too. the thin walls dont seem to bother me mutch with my lower temp sencha brewing though.
