I am not sure that the Bonus answer should be competing with the first answer for a percentage of the votes

Edited for Chip

Oolong, China, Bai Ji Guan - one of the famous Si Da Ming Cha

At the time I voted 2 people had voted, both had opted for Oolong, but Oolong only got 50% of the vote, China 25% and Other 25%

My tea of the month for August was a wonderful new tea for me: "White Oolong" from Norbu. I liked it so well that the first time I prepared it, I couldn't stop after the first set of infusions, and started immediately with another batch of leaves. Delicate, delicious, unique.

No tea yet today, sigh!

I've enjoyed several excellent 2011 chinese greens this month. Nevertheless my nomination for tea of the month is a Puerh - 2005 Golden Award Liu-Pao 85122 (Tea Art & Cultural Expo 2011), thanks to Auhckw. Firstly, I genuinely enjoyed the tea, and secondly I was relieved as I have 196 grams left!

Right now I'm enjoying many infusion of Gu Zhu Zi Sun while waiting for my meeting with the claims adjuster from the flood insurance program. Ah, Hurricane Irene.

Late to TD today. Quite a busy and hectic day for me, but always time for tea.

Started the day with Miyabi with the Mrs enjoying this tea drinking from Sendai.

Next up was Fujitsubu, a lovely gyo from the O-C, served up in a Petr-yaki gyokuro set.

Currently enjoying iced sencha, SLT.

Suddenly remembered... I do have Tea of the Month...

First time, I broke loose 26 different types of Dayi Pu in 2 days. What a great experience for me to see the different leaves, checking the consistency inside/outside and breaking different compression density. Some very easy and some are just too extremely difficult.

It is best if yesterday's topic carried over to today. Therefore please share what is in your cup with us throughout the day.

Then discuss yesterday's (and today's) topic. Share your tea of the month for August, details please!

Added bonus, does this tea fit into your all time fave list?

Enjoy your TeaDay

Re: Fri/Sat TeaDay 9/2-3/11 Tea of the Month for August?

Starting the day with some Sayamakaori sencha from Yuuki-cha.. My first time with this tea in ages, and the long needles of leaf are as intensely dark and rich-scented as ever. I made a misstep on the 3rd infusion, but have recovered nicely with the fourth. This is the first time with this tea in my Petr Novak kyusu, and I'm drinking it from my granite yunomi.

Yesterday, shared a thermos of Bai Yun oolong from Norbu in the afternoon--and remembered to add more of this tea to my future order cart. In the evening, several smaller brewings--Tai Ping Hou Kui from Jing Tea Shop, Xue Dian Mei Lan oolong/green tea from Norbu, and Da Wu Ye from Camellia Sinensis (the last from a very fruitful tea swap with another TCer). I think it will take some cool grey days to move puerhs and strongly roasted oolongs back to the top of the list.

I think my favorite tea for August was 2011 Spring Lishan oolong from Floating Leaves Tea. Right now drinking Da Yu Ling from FLT. Beautiful floral & fruity scent.

My tea for August was basically my tea of the summer. Obubu's kabuse sencha. I found it a lot more convenient to go to the local tea shop and purchase packs there rather than order anything new from Japan... I have since overcome that boundary with my O-cha order that arrived today!

Just tried/devoured some Kiri no Mori matcha from O-cha... my introduction to matcha has left me with a new love

15 years aged Dong Ding from Taiwan via Floating Leaves.

I've talked about it here before, but I haven't purchased any new tea types in August so it goes to the Dong Ding. Reminds me very much of Coffee, but better - obviously - because it's oolong tea.
