Xiaguan Yin Cang Yu Er Tuo of 2007. I don't know much about this Tuo. I might get the 2004 version and age a few of them to see what I get in 20 or so years.

My very first bulk purchase for a single recipe. 2 cartons + 2 pieces

2011 – 大益辛亥革命纪念茶 – 青普洱 – 357g 饼
2011 – dà yì xīn hài gé mìng jì niàn chá – qīng pǔ ěr – 357g bǐng







There are at least 10+ cartons sold (preorder, fully sold before arriving) and none of the customers tasted it before buying cause the shop doesn't have samples.

I have tried the cooked version, it taste like red bean, like in the Japanese "ann pan" or the cantonese red bean soup. But a nice drink and for keeps.
Do a taste test yourself if you have any and let me know if my taste buds are screwed up.

The shop I bought the above didn't bring in the ripe cause nobody interested on preorder.

But I think another shop is bringing in the ripe. Will try if it arrives will give it a try. Red bean... that is interesting

Tasted this couple of times, but decided to buy 1 piece for keeping and see how a 300 years old Bulang tree will taste like in the next couple of years. Will it remains tasty or become tasteless..

As of now, I like the light smokiness fresh taste. Saliva flow is good.

Interesting tea... It looks like it's the 100 year commemoration of the Xinhai Revolution? I got my history lesson for today, so that was nice...

Someone said china forum reviewed the small piece as good, but the big piece 1911g x 4 (2 ripe, 2 raw) of the xinhai is the best of the best (for the raw)

I am looking fwd to try the xinhai 357g...

I have not tried it yet, but I will sure try. My friend has tried it and if compared it to Gold Dayi, Gold Dayi is better.

Thanks to our George Soros of pu.... my feeling of reading the article is like bought a stock at a low price with hopes it will go up, the next day it crashes... hahaha....

Anyway, the possible of what you said can be true... cause there are others who reviewed it as good.

I'm bit surprise there is difference between 1911g and 357g versions. It is like Dayi using the 1911g version as an ad. to sell the standard version. Anyhow, he didn't say there is no future for the 357g version, he only said it's not very good for drinking it now and quality:price ratio is not very good. It normally takes a few years of aging before one call tell is a cake good or bad.

"Cloud" said in this review: a few cakes is "a sample". This makes all my pu collection bar one is sample . Don't know whether this makes me happy or sad.
Happy: all my duff cakes are only samples.
Sad: I "hardly" have any pu!

Taobao order came in today -

Got 3 out of my 4 pack of the 2004 Xiaguan Yin Cang Yu Er. No smoky aroma, just sweet caramel and vanilla scents and some mushroom aroma. The leaves are dark, almost black, and the buds are a gold-silver mix.

the other stuff, the Menghai hong yun and the 7562, are just tea. I will drink them during the cold months after I air them out for a while. Nothing too special, this old taobao.

2000 Taetea Peacock Series Ripe Organic (surrounded by 6 mini tuo ers from 2000 as well).
Has anyone tried this cake and is it any good? Any write up on the web?

Tea shop owner's son is now 1 month old. Chinese here (not sure elsewhere) celebrates their newborn's full month (full moon). Some would throw a party. As gift, the common thing they would give is some cakes, egg...etc.

This gift from the owner is kind of nice... Good idea. According to him, it is high quality ripe. Big piece leaves. I don't intend to brew this. Keep this until his son is 18 and return back to him... haha
