What is this Taiwanese red tea like? Are there any similarities to the Chinese reds like Keemun or Yixing?

Cheers.
Very different. Almost like a Moon light white puerh, but more cheap eastern beauty. A tasting from 2009:

Getting fresh here in the french Alps. What to brew then, given a little cold has fallen on me since a few days?

A zheng shan xiao zhong?

I got just enough for two sessions... shouldn't be of any importance but, not really consciously, I gave it slightly more attention than I usually do.
It was worth spending some time with it. Not really classically red, definitely not comparable to "classical" lapsang souchong.

Round, elegant, delicate while expressive! Original, in the sense of "tea like it could have been made originally" in little villages of Wu Yi.

Nice moment.
Have all a good teaday.
Fabien

Today i drank a Darjeeling Himalaya Mist SF2011

Recommended by the Society Tea Lovers in Prague, hand-picked Darjeeling tea with the second flush, which comes from the gardens located on the southern slopes of the high parts of the Himalayas.

Dark brown, almost black leaves with a few greenish tones create a very strong, thirst quenching brew. The full flavor and crisp taste will delight supporters of strong tea.

The most powerful black tea I ever drank.

Ceylon Vithanakande SFTGFOP-1 from Ito en; a high quality tea at a reasonable price. Definitely not a "sit back, relax and watch the world go by" cuppa, but a higher octane breakfast tea that sets you straight first thing in the morning. I like it with a pinch of half and half and smidgeon of sugar. If you haven't tried this tea before (many online purveyors carry it), It might be worth sampling.

Brewing Cost Plus world markets Keemun brewed grandpa style. Its preforming much better than I would have guessed, but previously I have only been using it for iced tea so I have not really stress tested it all that much.

Ceylon Dimbula Uduwela...not good.

It's dark, without taste.

Best wishes,

Sorry to hear this, as Ceylons are my favourite blacks. Which vendor did you buy the Dimbula from? :?:

Best wishes,

My favourite tea(black) is Darjeeling and Nepal;p I bought this tea in a local teahouse, from my friend.

It is possible that tea has faded(is old?)*. Coz from the same delivery, also got an old Darjeeling Namring FF 2011.

I drank a lot of Ceylon tea, and this tea was the worst. Nuwara Eliya<3;p

Greets

*I used a good word?

Yixing Hong Cha from Jing's. I just bought a small sample. I am going to wish I ordered more. Very smooth.
