HAGI "The Eiichi Commission!" Shibuya Eiichi, Intro Topic

I would say a month might be about right ... A lot depends on a succession of successes in the production mode of the Commission.
I will say this ... there should be 3 different shapes/forms. And there should be several extras. I will not take any more preorders though. What is leftover will be just normal sale after the preorder members have made their selections.

Good news, bad news. Well, all good news if you look at it positively!
Eiichi won some national award in Japan, though I do not know the details as of yet. But it seems his reputation and the appreciation of his works is beyond TeaChat.
But this is good news to see his career as an artisan on the fast track.
The Commission works are in progress and Eiichi feels he will complete them by early November! Sooooo, just a little longer to wait, assuming the kiln gods are favorable to this firing.
As always through this process, I have not rushed the artisan ... that would not be in the true spirit intended for this Commission.
Coincidentally, Seigan has been working on a special glaze for us for almost the exact time period ... but Seigan has not had success. He is going back to "square 1."

Do keep us posted on that award too! Great to be able to say we noted his skill before he was so widely recognized!

I think of #11 from time to time, take good care of it while it is in your keep!

Your post inspired me to review some of the original 'Rock' photos in the Rock topic links--surprised to find out how mine 'pops' out from the rest as I look them over again, and not just because it's familiar. Others are tempting, but #19 was just right.
Can wait for this commission mostly because I enjoy tea in my Rock several days a week, and in my Snowdrifts several days a month....

... define "early" ... I am still calling this "very early November."
No word on the firing, I have sent an enquiry to Mago ... I have to appear not overly anxious even though I am.
