Very interesting! Growing... does that mean that the gyokuro cups have grown into sencha cups?

I was baiting as usual ...

The stature of this series has grown quite a bit over the last week.

*more baiting*

Oho! Maybe chawan-size...??

Or at least, I'm assuming a "gyokuro cup" meant something really small? Or is there some other quality that would define a cup as such?

A gyokuro set will generally contain 6 gyokuro cups, smaller in size, higher in quality, and perfect for sipping gyokuro, a great sencha, or any tea requiring a smaller cup.

A median size is 2 - 2.5" (5 - 6.4 cm) W x 1.75 - 2" (4.4 - 5.1 cm) H. Similar to a small sake cup in size, but slightly more upright in general.

This series will be mini sets, virtually never seen pairs of gyokuro style cups. Each pair/set will be from one artisan and will include a special, signed wood box.

I am lining up Japanese artisans currently (though I would not exclude the possibility of our TAs' also participating). The list is pretty extensive!!! These will NOT be exclusively Hagi! But Hagi will be very well represented. So, there will be a lot of "new" to this series.

I am shooting for one release every month or two. These will be part of the Hagi SO program.

I will likely start a new topic for this series soon.

Oh ... also started work on a new Hagi SO ... this will be a BOLD looking piece, never saw this done before in Hagi-Yaki. Crossing my fingers and hoping it works!

Often when we begin work on a new SO, we do not really know if it will even work. Always pushing the boundries in the search for new frontiers.
