Tea Opinions

by Lerxst2112 » Dec 21st, '11, 17:36

There are a few questions that I would love to hear feedback on from the community. I have learned quite a bit from the person who introduced me to this wonderful world of tea, but then again, it's only his experience and his opinions that I've been exposed to. Thank you in advance for obliging a "mewbie" and look forward to your responses! :D I hope this is the appropriate category for this post - if not, if one of the moderators can let me know, it would be appreciated.

What is your favourite tea and why?
Whom do you purchase from the most?
What are some good "beginner" publications/books that one could read to become better educated as to the myriad of tea and their differences?
What got you interested in tea?

Thanks again!
~ Jess

Hi Jess,

With regard to your questions:

You might find more ideas behind peoples opinions regarding tea if you look in others tea blogs. There is a tea blogs section here, and there are also various sections, like "what oolong are you drinking?" or "what green are you drinking?" in their respective areas. This might help give you an idea of what some people here prefer to drink. I'm a toss up between green, oolongs, and pu'erh.

Best of Luck!

Bryan

Thanks, Bryan -

I'll do just that! It makes sense to sort of "start small", instead of using a general/broad brushstroke like that. I look forward to reading what people have to say, and learning more. Thank you for your guidance, and for steering me in the right direction.

Regards,
Jess

A great "beginner" type book on tea is the following:

http://www.amazon.ca/Tea-Enthusiasts-Ha ... 223&sr=1-5

Here is another one:

http://www.amazon.ca/Guide-Tea-Michael- ... 336&sr=1-1

You might consider starting with these.

Best wishes,
sherubtse
