I hope most of you notice the imporatance of tea packaging. Sunlight, moisture and oxygen barriers are the elements you have to consider when you select your packaging formats.

Clear Lids?

Postby Theo Sinensis » Dec 3rd, '07, 20:47

Admittedly an old thread, but I thought I'd use it rather than start a new one. Related to this is my question about Adagio's packaging. It looks like the tins have clear lids, and I have always taken the thing about sunlight seriously, even when storing teabags.

Are those lids clear, and if so why? (It has been a factor in my not yet buying larger quantities of Adagio teas.)

They're clear so you can see the leaves of course!

But you really don't have to worry too much. Just store all your teas in a cupboard or another dark place. I doubt you'll be leaving your tins in direct sunlight anyways, so you don't really have to worry.

Yes, that is really impressive. I do keep my teas and equipage in a glass cabinet, so that makes a difference.

And I'm off to buy some Adagio teas.

A glass cabinet?

My, that's classy.

Yet unfortunately, that would let light in. :?
