my very first matcha ever
OK, most people would not find this interesting, but I knew everyone here would. Today I tried matcha for the first time. Pics attached.

I bought at "starter" chasen/matcha set from Matcha and More.com. 20g of Koyama-en Shouhaku usucha/thin tea and a bamboo tea whisk. I can see where this could be VERY addictive.
So far.. I've had 3 and have quickly learned... do not drink right before bed time...

Some Yokan or other Japanese confectionery is a perfect match before you sip it.
I highly recommend getting Matcha from Uji if you are shopping for a new batch.
Lastly, Matcha is liquid meditation. Remember to take a deep breath before the first sip. Let it sink in. Bask in the wave of holy caffeine.
