Re: Zencha "Official" Japanese tea topic
cool..i have liked pretty much everything i've had from Zencha! just wish they had some Asa..
Re: Zencha "Official" Japanese tea topic
I haven´t really tried Asamushi yet...only the Sincha Sencha from Maiko in OTTI 1
maybe my next O-cha order...
Does this mean everything from Zencha is Fukamushi or is there Chumushi too?
I seriously really like fukamushi though...so I don´t mind that´s mostly what Zencha has!

Re: Zencha "Official" Japanese tea topic
I recently finished up tastings of 2 2010 shincha from Zencha, Takumi and Moe.
Takumi was predictably outstanding fukamushi, full mouth feel, lots of veggie, sweet, and only the slightest trace of bitter. This can be brewed up quite strong if you brew it cooler. I brewed at 150*.
The Moe was very good for this price point. It took a little work to get the parameters right, but it was worth the effort as it was as good as many shincha I had costing considerably more. Not as deep nore as smooth as Takumi, but I liked it.
I rated these as follows based on a scale of 1-5 with 5 beeing the highest.
Takumi 5
Moe 4 ... value adjusted 4.5

- Tea order around 85 dollars worth from zencha.net.
- Initial order shipping with normal post: 04 Nov 2010
- Waited some 2 or 3 weeks, no sign of it.
- Asked Zencha, they said it might be held for checking in customs in my country.
- Decided to wait, knowing that post in Spain is usually worst than snail races.
- Mid January 2011, still no delivery.( Guess some postmen love green tea .)
- Asked Zencha, Mr Nishiki said it will send it again, I asked for EMS, signed for(payed by me, of course).
-Second shipping, shipped with EMS on Jan 19th.
- Delivered today 24th Jan, (20 minutes ago).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion: AWESOME vendor! Fast response, honorable treatment.
Advice : avoid standard post, at least if you never tested it before.
Can´t wait to get home and brew.

i really love this vendor, the fastness of the delivery (which is also for free) and the quality of all products i had so far is great.
but one thing i wanted to asked is if the steaming of the senchas is really just medium both takumi and sencha the ultimate seemed quite like fukas to me ?!

Re: Zencha "Official" Japanese tea topic
I see they have added some Kagoshimas to their line-up:

These have piqued my interest, and may prod me to place an order.
Best wishes,

Very intriguing indeed. They've got a medium steamed Yutaka Midori... and, well, all the others sound worth trying as wellsherubtse wrote:I see they have added some Kagoshimas to their line-up:

Definitely an interesting addition to their product lineup. I've always liked Kagoshima teas.
That would just be perfect!Chip wrote:Look for an OTTI hopefully very soon!

Never took part in an OTTI before. One with Zencha will definitely be interesting. Was just about to place an order with them actually.

I wanted to place an order with the new kagoshima teas too, but couldnt decide which ones to order. So OTTI would be perfect!
