About 8 years ago I purchased a pomelo rind packed with shu. It was great tea, it had tremendous staying power in terms of multiple infusions. It was my real entry point into puerh. I have since ordered other pomelos, but never gotten one even close to that first one. The last one I purchased seems as if it has been stuffed with recycled Lipton. I'm grieved in a very minor way. I happened to look on the internet last night to see if anybody had pomelos for sale and the only place I found was one of those pushing tea on the virtues of weight loss, and I'm already thin enough, plus the pomelo in the picture was dressed up with a red ribbon.
Does anybody know of a source for a decent pomelo? I'd like to mix up my tea drinking once in a while with some.

stuff your own using good tea? Stuffed fruit usually contains really horrible tea, as you are finding.

Have you checked Fang Tea? They have a 30 year aged pomelo tea. I haven't tried it myself, but their teas tend to be pretty good, so it's probably worth a shot.

I have never tried this one, so this is not an endorsement. I did, however, just run into this online while looking at other things

Sounds like it came from David Lee Hoffman's storage. Not sure if $60 is worth the risk of bad tea, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the tip MarshalN. Sometimes we travel in and out of Chicago when going to the Lower 48. I am assuming that is where Chicago Tea Garden is. I will try to visit them. I hate to spend $60 sight unseen based on my last pomelo experience.

Indeed. I'm not under the impression that he has a physical store, so you should probably contact the guy who runs it.
