Favorite green tea poll

by Chip » Dec 10th, '07, 17:08

Yes, I know. How many ways and times can this be asked.

Well, this time, we have a poll, and besides, I am always amazed how my tastes change, so I am certain your tastes have changed as well.

Please also post what your favorite green tea is right now...and reasons.

So, which country's teas reign supreme on TeaChat???

As often as I drink Chinese greens, I had to go with Japan. There is just something marvelous about sencha.

I just put down Japan because it is, essentially, the only country I've really had a significant amount of green tea from. I'm still a noob at Chinese greens, and I have yet to try an Indian or Korean green. Does Taiwan even make green tea?

Yes, Taiwan makes a few green teas including a rarely seen Long Jing to name one. Since they produce so much green oolong, it is logical that they also produce some greens.

It's just that Mary has that versatile looking teapot silhouette avatar that could be brewing anything. It's good to know she brews up the sacred sencha from time to time...

And what other country's green tea has its own "gang sign?"

I love Chinese green tea, but I crave Japanese green tea at night thinking of the next day's tea menu. Japanese wins hands down.

Given the concern over Chinese products these days has only served to heighten my cravings for the steamed leaf.
