Please recommend other teas to try

Hi,

I have tried nearly all of the green teas at Adagio. I am somewhat new to tea and looking to expand my options. I haven't had many teas from other sources. The two teas that I like most at Adagio are Green Anji and Mei Hua. Dragonwell was also good. I did not like Sencha Premier or Gyokuro.

Please recommend other teas for me to try that you think I may like. Other vendors are fine too. Thanks.

Welcome to teachat. Looks like you are a fan of Chinese greens. Jing's Tea Shop has a great selection and fresh Long Jing (Dragonwell) just came in.
The price of imperial grade is pretty shocking, but most of their other prices are very reasonable. You might give their white teas a try too.

Seventy-five dollars for 50g at Jing?! Has anyone tried it? Is it worth the price? How does it compare to other high quality long jings, like, say, teaspring or Seven Cups?

Matcha? (any that come from Uji)
Ku-Ding (if you like bitter)
Hoji is still technically green.
Dragon Phoenix pearl. (The scent is heavenly)
Mao-Feng (pronounced Mao-FUNG it can be light or medium I like it)
Se-Jak (A Korean green tea its like a lighter milder semi-sweeter Sencha)

That is all I can think of for now.

I know you said you didn't like Adiago's... but I recommend... Sencha! If you like green tea you owe yourself a second try with it. You need a special pot to brew it in though... Here's a good vendor-

Well bear in mind this is a highly auspicious year (water dragon, wood energy) which will yield an excellent green tea harvest. Better than the last two which I have forgotten already (green and light oolong teas were :facepalm: :lol:

).

Was this a prediction before this spring or is it a reflection based on the yield of this spring? :mrgreen:

these are the chinese greens I most highly recommend

Gu Zhu Zi Sun = purple bamboo shoot
Huang Shan Mao Feng
Ming Qian An Ji Bai Cha
Bi Luo Chun
MEI LAN CHUN = drum mountain clouds and mist

perhaps you will come around to japanese teas but I would say you can find plenty in the world of chinese teas.

Not that I have tried their tea, is it this years?

I had some greens at Maliandao last week, and the price was very high and the quality very average. For this years spring teas, they recommended waiting another week for a better price/quality balanced shipment to come in.
