Six years ago today a member of another Tea Forum lead me down the path to TeaChat. Thus ... my TeaChat TeaJourney began and continues to this day.
This got me to wondering, how did you 'find TC'?
Have a great TeaDay, TeaChatters!

Re: New TeaDay 4/22/12 TeaChat, TeaJourney
A conversation with the proprietor of a tea shop led me to TeaChat--an excellent discovery to accompany some terrific teas.
Tonight, enjoying some Song Zhong Dan Cong from Tea Habitat, after a session with some Da Wu Ye from Norbu, and the afternoon started with some Tie Guan Yin, also from Norbu. I've been testing out the new Yi Yong Cheol teapot with a little bit of almost everything, and it's doing well with all of them.

Fairly sure it was some sort of Google Search. Can't for the life of me remember what I was googling though.

My TeaChat introduction was through the "bamboo forest" ... I was new on the O-Cha forum and this member PMed a TC link to me. And the rest is history ...

I'm pretty sure I was googling up info on various Japanese tea vendors for my first online purchase

Re: New TeaDay 4/22/12 TeaChat, TeaJourney
I was searching for a tea forum, because it would be nice to have conversations with other tea enthusiasts. Most of my friends either find it interesting, but aren't enthusiasts, or they think I'm crazy for being so into tea.

I was looking into forums to discuss tea and stumbled on TeaChat. It took me a while to actually sign up and start posting though. For a long time I just read posts and educated myself a bit. My experience with discussing tea outside of TeaChat is much the same as galatea's, most of my friends find it interesting, but aren't enthusiastic about it. Or they just think I'm crazy and don't understand why I need anything besides bottle sugar water- er tea.

I recall myself looking for a place to learn more about tea as I was applying for Teavana. That and I was always curious about a place to find good tea online.

The bf is a member. Lurked for a little while, read some posts, drooled over some beautiful pictures, and finally became a member.

Bancha. I was searching for bancha.
I don't have the link to the thread, but I recall one TeaChatter saying something like 'sencha is a new romance, but bancha is an old friend.'
I taste that.

Pertty much by accident. It likely involved a search for something.... but I can't remember what.... but I know I was not looking for a tea specific site. Likely some search involving pottery of some sort....... and one of the Teaware Artisans threads popped up.

It was a Google search looking for information on Japanese tea cups.
I was very lucky to this forum when I did. I was getting close to purchasing a cast iron pot for brewing green tea - yes, I got started at Tevanna!

When I started learning seriously about tea I used Google heavily, and TeaChat kept coming up with authoritative opinions. I didn't lurk for very long before I signed up.
