I just discovered some bargains on Ebay of 500g quantities of farm grown blueish top grade Japanese tea for under $20. Very attractive but I'm not in the habit of buying so much at a time. I'm more into puerh.
If I put it in the freezer in a good rubber sealed jar will it keep for a year or so? I'm also thinking of sharing small batches of it on Ebay.

Re: Storing large quantities of green tea
I doubt it. I assume you are talking about sencha. There's no way this is going to be any good.kasey wrote:500g quantities of farm grown blueish top grade Japanese tea for under $20
Also, "blue"?

Re: Storing large quantities of green tea
Thanks Alex. That's right, some of their teas have a bluish tinge to them which looks very deep and rich. I've only tried 3 Japanese senchas and have never seen anything like this but I'm tempted. Looks like a good vendor, I just wish they sold in smaller quantities.
But my original question is still unanswered. Anyone?

Re: Storing large quantities of green tea
They would need to provide more info than what is provided before I would buy that much of any green tea. Japanese greens are definitely not like pu-erh. Best purchased in smaller amounts.
I am not seeing blueish however. Good sencha is deeper green in color.
