Adagio Chestnut (Holiday) Tea
I just wanted to say that this Adagio chestnut tea is one of the BEST black teas I have ever, ever, ever had. It is fantastic. Definitely my favorite holiday tea, though the peppermint is amazing as well. Anyone else had any interesting holiday teas?

The chestnut is very subtle to me, but I still like it. Thats saying a lot considering I like the flavor in the tea to be strong. Adagio's gingerbread is too subtle, too, but I like that as well. Their candy apple tastes like water to me, and the pumpkin spice doesnt really taste like anything other than black tea (which really disappointed me). Now I go to my cupboard to try the cranberry and the candy cane. Wish me luck. I was really excited about the holiday teas, but I wish they all had more flavor.
Chip, I've tried using more tea and a longer steep time, and all it did for me was make it more bitter. ...I don't get it. I have this problem with quite a few flavored black teas.
So then I tried more tea, but less steep time, so as to cut down on the bitterness. It worked, but I was still left with the same bland tea. I can't win.
Mmm, but I just sat down with a cup of the candy cane, and its a winner. Thank goodness.

I just checked your blog out and saw your review for Dragonwater's Pumpkin Rooibos where you say "Ok, this is the best rooibos blend I have ever tasted. Ever. Hands down."
I just wanted to say that I totally agree. It's the only rooibos I've ever bought in bulk, I like it that much. I really enjoy the reviews you post--keep up the good work!

Thanks! Once I get a bit more up I will probably post a topic in the Other category asking for feedback. I started this yesterday so its obviously come a long way! And the pumpkin rooibos.....mmmm.....such amazing flavor. I also bought a large bag of it after trying it. Now I'm waiting for a huge bag of white melon and a huge bag of pumpkin rooibos.

teaforleelee wrote:Pumpkin Rooibos. Sounds great. Can you really taste the pumpkin flavor, and do you know if theyre still selling it/how long it'll be available (assuming its a holiday/fall tea)?
You taste pumpkin, but it is not overwhelmingly pumpkin...there are a lot of other flavors in there. It's available full-time, it's not a holiday tea.

I'll disagree a bit with yukon, but taste is subjective. Anyway...I would live on pumpkin if I could. It's one of my favorite vegetables, and I add it to everything. (I even made pumpkin enchiladas once. My fixation is high.) I can't taste a lick of pumpkin in the rooibos blend. However, I do think it tastes like some sort of creamy dessert. Perhaps eggnog or buttercream icing. It's just lightly fruity and very pleasant, but if you buy it expecting pumpkin pie you'll be disappointed.

I made pumpkin ice cream once, but it was in summer so nobody really felt like pumpkin-flavored anything. It was good though, mmmmmm.

I eat pumpkin ice cream with pumpkin pie in the fall. It's awesome.
