Looking for a cake of 2003 You Le 6FTM

The sample I got of the 2002 6FTM You Le Gu Cha has a lot of character and depth of flavor. YS lists it as a 1st flush wild arbor tea. Well stored. IMO, much better than many other puerh's of the same age.

I don't typically brew very heavy, and the nasty edge I'm really thinking about is predominantly about a 100g bamboo-wrapped tuocha from '06 I believe. That edge is present in the sample of 2003 Youle I had, but I adjusted my parameters to be a bit more cautious in the beginning and more aggressive later to dodge it. It's enjoyable, but I've had some very fine not-young Youle, so I suppose I wouldn't be very easy to impress anyways. As a rule, Youle is just not *that* interesting, and it takes a really good one (which does not tend to be common in the marketplace, btw) for it to be anything like comparable to the heavier tasting good Yiwus.

Lest anyone be snotty, there are bad old tree and good plantation teas. It's still gonna be about the tree and the quality of care. In some places, the plantation teas are very, very, good. Classic example are Yiwu, Naka, and Jingmai. There are decent Menghai, Bulang, Kuzhushan, etc plantations, too, but as far as the common consumer go, that's a crapshoot.

I am talking about the 2002 You Le Gu Cha, NOT 2003. The bitterness has receded.

ooops, that's the one I was talking about too, the 2002 from YS. I didn't know they had a 2003.

Are the wrappers almost identical?
