Another round with the Honey Orchid Dan Cong, but a different cup, that is perfectly size-matched to the small Chao Zhou pot

Working on the end of a batch of Sea Dyke red label TKY, so nice to find the old favorite still satisfying.

Prelim tasting set for OTTI 15 arrived today. 6 Taiwan oolong selections, 2 green, 2 medium, 2 dark. The most intriguing of the 6 at first sight is the one dark which looks like a somewhat mini pu-erh bing, weighs roughly 100 grams I am guessing.

Soooo, "looks like Gaoshan is back on the menu, boys." (LotR paraphrase) But where to begin???

The bulk is due to arrive later.

Look for postings in the OTTI forum of TeaChat.

Not drinking it right now ( at coffee shop, so shoot me ) but FLT has an aged baozhong I'm really enjoying. A lot of the aged oolongs fall into roughly two camps - herbal/mineral/medicine or sweet/plummy. This one is both, and that is exactly the kinda aged oolong I like best. Also pretty long lasting for an aged oolong if you are careful to do your first few brews quickly. Maybe next time I have it out I'll take some pics and post tasting notes.

This one reminds me a bit of an 83 I got from Camelia Sinensis in CA a few years back. I reordered it and it wasn't as good, but that first batch had the same yummy this one does. So pleased I found another aged baozhong I love and in enough quantity ( bought a bag - 13/oz is a steal ) to last a couple years until I find another. :D

... started out with a "dark selection" from OTTI 15. Really very nice indeed. Nice evolution from steep to steep.

I have to say, the oolong buzzz is quite different from green tea.

And moved onto the second dark oolong from OTTI 15. I am very glad this one was included as it is really remarkable! Excellent!!! Very complex, incredible aroma, and great mouthfeel.

This one selction is worth the price of admission!

Unfortunately, I cannot say much more at this time as I do not want to prejudice the participants!

It's been a good oolong day. This morning I sencha didn't seem right, so I started a session with a new Dan Cong--2009 Zhong Ping Lao Cong Zhi Lan Xiang (Cattleya Orchid Fragrance)--from Tea Habitat. It was stunningly fragrant from the first sniff of the dry leaves dropped into the preheated pot through the 6th or 7th infusion, when I had to abandon the leaves to come to work.

This afternoon, I'm enjoying a session with tea lovely bonus bag of 2009 High Mountain Beauty Alishan from Norbu. So sad to see the end of this one, with the superb bug bitten flavor.

I don't know where I'll go next--what can stand out from the shadows of such lovely oolongs?

Relaxing on this beautiful summer night with Miao-Li Aged Oolong from FLT.

This tea falls into the sweet and plummy category and some wood notes in there too.Very pleasant and clean tasting tea.

Very different tea from the aged Baohzong. That tea is incredible and I also believe sold out. ( I knew you would love that tea Tenuki )

Both great teas! :D

2003 Aged Bai Hao Oolong-Hou De

A beautifully balanced tea with a nice mouth feel.
It has aged really nice, while maintaining a lot of the Bai Hao high notes.
Beautiful leaves and pretty long lasting tea.

I'm gonna have to put another order in soon.

Anyone had any of their new spring TGY or Baohzong?
