Lined envelopes for tea?

by spinmail » Jul 13th, '12, 14:35

I'd like to send envelopes of tea to some people; something that would hold 10 or 15g or tea.

I know that certain vendors send samples of their tea. You aware of any empty tea envelopes that can be eventually sealed? Thanks!

That seems like a really good price. 9 cents each. I have to compare to Sorbent.

I am heading out the door, but I have used Sorbent Systems, they have a lot to choose from though finding the exact product can be difficult. If nobody posts links, I will later.

Both of these are attractive options. The bags from YS are priced competitively - though the shipping fee is a factor to consider. Sorbent systems is like a gold mine for this kind of bag, and the mylar zip bag comes in all sorts of sizes; with OTTI alone, Chip must run through boxes of this bag. :)

I since called Upton Tea, and they offer a three-layer reclosable bag for around 20 cents each. There's also a local tea shop, Aroma Tea; they sell lots of tea, and certainly have bags they might be willing to sell.

Good find. Using similar search criteria, I found this:

Free ship, but it's an auction, not a Buy It Now! Ten cents each is about as good as it gets.

Good call. I wonder if my local vendor, Aroma Teas, uses food grade enclosures. Things have suddenly become more complicated.... :?:

what about using one of that cheap 20 bucks vacuum

by iovetea » Jul 19th, '12, 15:52

machinese they also use for packing small samples of food at home. you can close it completely and in the long run it might be as cheap as normal bags... i haven't seen them in a long time but we had such a little thing like 10 years ago or so.

http://www.sorbentsystems.com/standupbags_order.html
are the ones I use.

There are usually specials where you can buy lots of 100 of one color of a particular size. I usually use AA and A for samples, and sometimes keep B / C around as well.
