Noob question...Bing Diameter?
What is the diameter of a 350g bing? I'm going to be on the look out for some stoneware/clay pot storage, but don't want to buy something with to small a mouth.

Re: Noob question...Bing Diameter?
Depends on compression, leaf size, etc. some are bigger, some are smaller.
Xiaguan is smaller on average, where Mengku Shaungjiang is typically a little bigger.
Good Luck,
Bryan

Great I'll look for larger than 10" openings that should be plenty big enough then.

Re: Noob question...Bing Diameter?
Why do you want to store it in a pot? aging tea...well, puerh in this case, means it needs to be exposed to air.
Re: Noob question...Bing Diameter?
The pots I'm looking at would not be air tight air, plus a pot will be better than just laying on a shelf that my cat might climb on or in a closet with other items since I don't have a closet I can dedicate just to puerh storage right now....
Re: Noob question...Bing Diameter?
High end puerh storage do tend to be in ceramic, unglazed pots. The porous clay helps regulate humidity. The pots makes it look nice while you store it in a publically accessible room. They also provide less paper/bamboo food for house bugs to eat The lids are not airtight.

I have seen some people not use a lid at all and go for cloth in its place
