No photos of the collection, because they're scattered in different places--a single teapot, pitcher, kettle and cup in one satellite office, but quite a collection in the main office, and then the ones at home are not very well arranged.

I expect to have keys to the new house in a few days, and after a bit of remodelling, I hope to have a better display for the at-home collection. But there won't be any cash to spare for more teaware for awhile as the closing costs and remodelling bills come in.....

I have got this one from my friend. It is too big for my tea time but I like a brush work. I have no idea who made it. For me it looks like British Leach/Hamada school ('60?). But I can be far away from a truth. Do you have any ideas?

Nice teapot. hard to say from the photos, but it could have been made in the UK or USA or even Japan. Any mark on the bottom?

Thanks Saladin. Not any signature or stamp. Someone really wanted to remain "unknown potter":)
Also I thought of Japan. There is a spirit of Mingei imho. This teapot is heavy so it can not be exclude American origin (I know it sounds stupid but all of the bowls that I had in my hands were really thick)

Common problem with a lot of gaijin's chawan....... way too heavy.

Do you practice senchado ?? Maybe you can give us some more
details as these are hard to find outside Japan...

I have a convertible nonoda-ryoro in the mail (i.e. it can be used with
charcoal and electric) but plan to use it as a versatile way to heat water.

Kim I am not really an expert, so far I have a few books that are well illustrated, and some videos on YouTube. Someone helped me translate a few passages from the books, but now I am unclear about differences between schools. Some ceremonies are minimalist and some are modeled after Chanoyu.

I love that Kyusu too! Im on the hunt for another small glazed one now that my little Kutani got in the way of my three year old...
