New TeaDay 8/18/12 It's Saturday and I am wondering ...

It is Saturday already ... and only one thing to get excited about...it is TeaDay. I cannot think of anything better to do than to visit TeaChat and share tea all weekend with TCers!

Newbies, oldies, come and post as often as you want throughout the entire weekend!

It's been a while since I brought up the subject of today's poll.
So, how old are TeaChatters anyway???

So answer the poll ... and instead of discussing our ages (unless you want to), tell us your gender if you please. Are you a TeaMan or a TeaWoman?

And since we are on the subject of demographics, why not take it a step further, please feel free to share your ANCESTRY, your family or ancestral descent; lineage.

Do not feel obligated to discuss anything but your TEAS of the day, but it will be interesting to learn a little something about everyone.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaWeekend with everyone. Bottoms up!

Happy weekend! Looks to be a rainy one here in New England. Good tea weather.
I am a 47 year old Irish-American TeaMan.
Starting out this TeaWeekend killing the last of my first can of matcha, Kimmo-no-mukashi that came in Ippodo's matcha starter kit that I got as a gift.
A box from O-cha arrived minutes ago, just in time. I will replace Ippodo's can with Kaoru Supreme organic matcha. It will be fun to try them back to back.
Also purchased Fujitsubo gyokuro and Kirameki asa sencha.
I'll surely be digging into the Kirameki a bit later. I might hold off on opening the gyo until I finish the open tin of Ippoen from Ippodo.
Then later tonight, it will be yancha or dancong....maybe both!
I plan on tea-ing out.

I'm the only one voting in the 60+ category so far...

I began my Teaday with a session of my latest delivery of Sencha Karigane Otsuusan from O-Cha. I'm in love with this tea, and like to start my day with it. Here's a photo of it alongside the tokoname hobin that I brew it in.

Getting ready to finish the YM sample from the O-cha OTTI. Oh yeah, I am a 24 year old male, and yes that is me in my Avatar.

*Edit: Forgot my ancestry. I am half Latvian (Sveki!), quarter Slovak, and one eight each Irish and German.

Currently working through the Botan Shincha from Hakoniwado OTTI 14, and loving it more than I expect to love a fuka. I anticipate brininess overwhelming the sweet delicacy that I really love, and this one is letting me find the sweet spot, infusion after infusion. YUM!

Otsuusan is some tart stuff. It really wakes me up in the mornings.

Currently I am enjoying one of my last two sessions I can get with Shimofuri sencha from Yuuki-Cha. The washi canister hardly feels like it weighs anything when I pick it up.

I am eagerly waiting for sencha 7132 to arrive, hopefully Monday.

. Alex Lifeson's (the guitarist) nickname is lerxst. 2112 is one of their songs. European mutt - English/Irish, German, and Polish.

Working on a bag of JGY, though did just review a '12 saejak that was out of this world.

Yes - tart and savory, but without a touch of bitterness.

I forgot my ancestry - half New York, half New Jersey. I grew up in Coney Island of amusement park fame, then lived in Manhattan, before settling down across the river in NJ.

I'm using up the remainder of O-cha's Miyazaki Organic Asamushi Sencha. It is a very mild asa, much too mild for my taste. But somewhat pleasant brewed at gyo-like temps.

As for ancestry, I am one-quarter German and one quarter French (on my Mother's side) and one-half Scottish on my Father's side.

Presently living in Ontario, Canada, but originally from Canada's east coast.

i'm a 27 year old male with a lot of different cultural and ethnic influences - I'm mixed race but look mostly white. I have middle eastern heritage, both muslim and jewish, so it makes for a nice family reunion. I also have african relatives. Great Grand-dad on dads side was full blooded Choctaw indian, from what I have seen. On top of all of that, I was raised by my grandmother who was born and raised in a town outside Dublin.

I just had grampa style heavy roast Taiwanese TGY - nice chocolatey notes. yeah..

26, male here. Born in Canada, Italian on my dad's side and Swiss/British on my mom's side. I look more Swiss than anything else though.
Currently drinking the last of a mystery Long Jing from Jing. (Ordered one type, bag had a different name written on it, threw out the packaging, forgot the name!)
