Opened a bag of Greys teas 'Nepalese Sakura' this morning. Not sure what sakura have to do with anything but I've seen similar teas from the Sakhira estate so it might be a simple case of mistyping/mishearing. Does anyone know?

I do like it though, very warm, spicy breadlike aroma, little to no bitterness but a certain edge I like a lot. Sat sipping on my balcony this morning watching rain clouds drift by... =)

Was this the one that Norbu was offering? What were your thoughts? I was considering getting a sample.

Turned Norbu's Ye Sheng Hongcha into an office tea. Very 'soft' in its presentation with strong fruity elements. Distant florals and sweetness. Nice little everyday drinker!

Hiruma Yoshiaki's black tea, fall 2010 harvest, Oku-musashi cultivar, hand-picked. Prune, peach, flowers... I am not a red tea specialist, but this one has quickly become my evening's best friend.

Mariage Freres FF Castleton SFTGFOP1
This year's FF Castleton is fabulous. Similar qualities to the 2011 FF. yet the 2012 only takes 2 minutes to bring out the full flavor and taste of the tea.

Brewing up some of that wild tree purple black tea from yunnan sourcing after a hefty round of eating, breakfast, immediately followed by lunch, 2 hours later second lunch (I feel like a hobbit)

Great compliment to all that food in me, feel the tea working its magic!
Both of the wild tree purple black tea's really satisfy after a heavy meal. When pushing the tea during its last infusion/s many reds will peter off for me, textures and flavours thin out, mundaneness settles in. For these teas the final infusion can be extended long and pushed hot resulting in a very delicious ending to the session, with even some bonus notes that were undetected in the first few infusions.

Another good value red tea from yunnan sourcing. :D

Tanzania breakfast tea from the local shop.

It's superb! Dirt cheap, tea in tea bags, but it's super fragrant, winey, powerful black tea.

ps because of the other poster, im just saying beware when buyin from mariage freres online. I ordered from them online and i got cheated badly, they have given me really undrinkable very old tea.
Sure i didnt order indian tea but still just beware, better buy in person or say you want to pay with paypal so you have insurance if they try something funny on you too.

Sorry to hear Mariage Freres sent you undrinkable old tea. I've ordered tea from them 5 times over the past two years and their service has been impeccable. In terms of the tea quality, flavor, and taste, the teas are always superb. I usually order the Darjeeling first flush estate teas andthey have always been fresh, very green and never old. Their customer service department is easy to deal with and I have received numerous free samples from Mariage upon request.

I am drinking the 2012 FF Castleton and it is excellent.

yes maybe its just because i have a foreign name. i bought for over 100 euros and they ripped me totally of.. i guess the tea was 5 years old lol.
i didnt buy just one tea, but what orderes was taiwan black tea, golden bud yunnan tea. ali shan... and 2 others.

anyway everyone should see for themselves, im just saying you know. why risk getting robbed, just insist on paypal and when they try funny stuff, you can ask your money back.
especially when you order from another country, i would greatly be aware, better save then sorry.

A cuppa Adagio English Breakfast warms me up on this rainy afternoon, followed by a bowl o' Dunhill flake in my churchwarden. Then, it's a merry marathon of Doctor Who, leading up to tomorrow's season premiere. [nerd-a-thon commences]
