Hi everyone. I am Howell from Nova Scotia, Canada. My history of tea tasting went back to a few years ago. My grandfather who is a life-long tea lover first introduced me to Green Bamboo, a Green Tea that grows in Szechuan, China. This first wonderful experience lead me to the world of tea. I have tried different kinds of teas in the past years: like LongJin, TieGuanYin, HouKui, BiLuoChun, Pu-er. I am still fascinated with all aspects about tea. Friend of mine brought me to this cool forum with so many tea lovers. I would love to share my tea tasting experience and learn from the rest of you.

Would that be "Shu Ye Qing, Green Bamboo Leaf" tea from Mount Emei? I had some of that for a while. Tasty!

Or Zu(zhu) Ye Qing...that green was potent. Like a cup of asparagus, lol. I really liked it.

That's right. It is called Zhu Ye Qing from Mount Emei. It is a little bit grassy (which most green teas do), but the aroma lasts quite long which is reason I like it. The tea garden is located outside of Thousands Year Temple which is 800-1000 meters above sea level. You guys really surprised me since this tea is so rare that not many people have been exposured to it. Where did you guys source your Zhu Ye Qing?

Mine was from Teaspring.com, but even they are out of stock. I have seen it from very few places. It was a fav of mine. It was perhaps one of the more potent greens from China that I ever had and one of the best too!!!

Thanks for the spelling correction. No wonder I couldn't find it on Babelcarp

Thanks for the additional detail about where it comes from. It helps bring the tea alive for me. Mount Emei alone doesn't mean anything to me. Have you ever been there?

I usually brewed Zhu Ye Qing in a glass cup so I could also enjoy the dancing leaves, this is one of the best dancing tea leaf teas.

That sounds like a half-palatable Chinese green.

Wow, that tea looks gorgeous, as does Mt. Emei. Looks just like a Yellow Mountain School scroll...

Did not know one could source tea from Ebay before I found this board. Wonderful...
