I would love to have help! Anyone interested, I'll pay in kiln opening pottery from the first firing of this new kiln... Or money... Or both

I will keep an ongoing sequence of pictures for those who can't make it.

Of course now that I'm retired, I can work on it everyday

You are going to find that the redesign you are doing is going to give you AMAZINGLY better results. Well worth every dime you are spending and every ache and pain you'll have from handling tons of hardbricks one at a time.

Thanks John, I have been working on this redesign for about a year now. I am very excited to rebuild. I did more today until it got dark anyway. I'm in and near the fire box and everything is ash/glaze coated. Lots of grinding to do. And... the guy that I'm renting the brick saw from wants me to build him a beehive kiln for bread making! Side jobs are good.

And my brick piles are getting big, lots and lots of bricks!! :shock:

Got some more done today. Thought I would put some more "potter porn" :lol:

up for everyone to see. I'm down to the huge rock buttresses I had for the old kiln in the first picture. They're handsome with tons of fossils on them, I will find a way to re-use them. Also down to the concrete slabs. I will cut off the lower pad and pour a new one about a foot lower. I will be able to walk in to this kiln instead of climbing up in there to load or unload.

Big brick piles!!! That was a lot of grinding and hammering!!
