Decaf Flavors

by teachat » Jun 7th, '05, 15:40

I am just wondering if you, Adagio, will be adding to the decaf flavors any time soon?? I am personally looking for Decaf Orange, Decaf Raspberry, Decaf Cinnamon or Decaf Christmas.

Thanks!

Michelle

Michelle,

Happy to say that Decaf Raspberry is available now. And we'll gladly aim to expand our Decaffeinated Teas section soon to include others. To locate the former, please visit http://www.adagio.com/decaf.html

Are the Adagio decaf teas flavored with natural or artifical fruit flavorings? Thank you.

Carole,

The short answer is the flavors are artificial. A slightly longer answer would advise you to pick up an excellent book on this topic called "Fast Food Nation." In summary, these days, both natural and artificial flavors are man-made. The distinction lies in how they are manufactured.

My husband and I are new to brewing loose teas...just receive our first order from you...we both enjoy decaf earl grey but my husband is not wild about the flavor of your decaf earl...he would like more bergamot flavoring...any suggestions of other decaf flavors that he might enjoy?

Laura,

Our popular decaf flavors include Peach, Mango and Vanilla. Hope your husband may enjoy these. However, our flavors tend to be subtle. Reason being, the underlying tea is of much better quality than is ordinarily offered in flavored teas. So we hold back on the flavoring to allow tea's natural flavor come to the fore. Hope you may grow to like them.

Go to Special Teas.com. They have the decaf black cin. spice. Really good, too. So is their Green Apricot decaf. Wish Adagio carried those two because I prefer buying from them.

Glenda,

Good news on the Decaf Spice front - this tea will join Adagio's repertoire in a few weeks. But given the cold reception our prior forays into Apricot flavor received, unfortunately can't be as upbeat about Green Apricot.

Michael - I can't WAIT for the decaf spice! So glad I happened across this particular discussion. I so love the decaf mandarin green - it is wonderful.

Keep up the good work!

I would like to second the request for more decaf flavors. My husband can't have much caffeine but adores tea. I purchased the decaf earl grey (which is absolutely delicious), decaf spice (haven't tried it but it smells amazing), decaf mandarin, and decaf citron.

I'd love to see a decaf green jasmine, decaf cinnamon, and possibly the decaf green with brown rice. Since you have a base decaf black and decaf green, it seems like some of hem would be easy to achieve (but that may be my ignorance about the process showing).

Thanks in advance! I love your products and your service.

Gary--

Thanks for the post.

Keep in mind, the only dumb question is the one about enjoying coffee.

Jasmine does indeed have caffeine (ours is an Oolong), here is a link that shows approx. caffeine levels:

http://www.adagio.com/info/caffeine.html

Hope this helps,

Chris

How about a decaf passion fruit. Love the flavor, but I'm buzzing all day and all night from the caffeine.
