Let's make a list of teas with strong cha-qi

I am new to this forum and pu-erh in general, but I am very passionate about it. The aspect I love the most is cha-qi.

However, finding teas with good cha-qi is a hit and miss situation. I have paid tuition fee a few times. So, please, let's make a list of teas that have good cha-qi.

Also, where possible, a direct link to the vendor page would be the best way to go about it.

I have tried finding a source for some of the teas mentioned in the threads you poseted. I have found at least one on YS, but for some suggestions I failed.

For example, how would you go about buying teas from this list:

add to the Essence of tea's aged Wuyi oolong (which nada claims was so strong he had to slow down after the 1st infusion, lol) another aged Shui Xian from Five Star (lower price too):

We have to mention that 1993 Zhenyan Shui Xian has very strong impact on your body. This tea can warm your body up and calm the soul when drinking in the gongfu way. You can really feel the effects after tasting such a special and mature tea!


Cha-qi (Chi energy) of 1993 Zhenyan Shui Xian is powerful.

Then we have Hojo, a bit controversial in his outspoken views that are in opposite to many here on TC

The quality tea alters the property of water. The higher the quality of the tea, the higher the iron content of the tea. The iron ion changes the strength of hydrogen bond of water and the water's property becomes very close to our body water.
In other word, quality tealeaf modifies the water and make it easier for our body to utilize. Uji Hojicha Jubuzan drastically changes the water property. As a result, we feel relaxed, feel happy and eventually we feel sleepy. This is called "tea drunk" effect.

Personally, I think, that while they 'feel' that they are on some hallucinogenic or other type of high drinking tea; I would bet (they all deny it) those younger tea high's, as well as perhaps the older aged, comes from mostly the caffeine effect, imho. Can't prove otherwise, can you?

want to have high 'chi qi' in all of your puerh/teas and not have to pay much "tuition"? Go for the gold standard that only costs pennies/cents per cup....

I think it is aparent to any one is the least bit self aware that the energy you get from tea (cha qi) young or old is very different from the jolt and crash of cafeine. "

I'll throw in my +1 that cha qi and caffeine are two different feelings. Darius, I'm sure you'll recall the GA outings. Most of us were kind of slumped in our chairs, rosy faced, grinning like fools, and didn't feel like moving for anything.

I literally cringed with the bit about putting caffeine shots into tea.

Cha qi is an entirely personal experience.

What's not a personal experience (or judgement) is confusing the effect/appeal of moonshine with Bordeaux wine. People drink these items for different reasons--moonshine as more a straight up drug, similar to what you might use Red bull for, and Bordeaux as a more wider experience, with rituals and settings, and offers a much more delicate drug interaction/experience with your body.

Same diff between pharma THC, and some of Mary's finest brownies.
