Oh no. =(
I only spoke to Ian a handful of times on the IM here. He was always quick to greet with a "hi Jess!". I recall receiving good advice on some tea that I was looking into. Such a wonderfully kind man. I am deeply saddened.
Prayers and condolences to Ian's wife and family.

I can pay the other $20. We can't split the teapot in half though. Maybe send it to Mrs. Iannon? I feel like that's something more worthwhile than some internet page that's "perpetual" - nothing is really perpetual on the internet. A pot, however, can be held on to.

I was thinking something along these lines as well. Who would this page be run/operated by?

Re: A very sad announcement regarding Iannon
Thank you everyone for contributing to this lasting tribute to Ian and kind gesture to his family and friends. You can paypal me at teachatmoderator@yahoo.com. Please use the "personal payment option>money owed" in order to avoid business paypal fees.
BTW, I have already paid this, so please pay asap. Thanks.
This is a gesture to Ian's family, hopefully a lasting tribute to Ian, our friend. Such gestures help grieving parties, including us, deal with a tragic and sudden loss such as Ian's.
Flowers last a few days, this will hopefully last many years.
While we will be working on something hopefully of more substance as well which will require the approval of Ian's wife.
The guest book will be maintained by legacy.com. We cannot control what they do, but hopefully it will be available for viewing for many TeaDays to come.

No reason we can't do both, right?

I was not saying anyone was right or wrong, I was simply clarifying the current group gesture in process ... to which members are already contributing.
Certainly if someone wants to gift his wife a teapot, that would be a nice gesture.

Re: A very sad announcement regarding Iannon
I Just stumbled across this thread.
It gave me a moment of pause and reflection. There are no words, but seeing all the love and support for Ian in this thread - from friends and admirers alike - it's clear that he was a special guy who touched others, even in ways we don't quite realize yet.
From what I can see here, Ian kept very good company.
Christian.
