Doesn't everyone drink it? :lol:
I drink tiny little bit of double-steamed baijiu from time to time, but have retreated to the much milder maple sugar whiskey most of these days :P

I'll drink it happily enough, but I don't usually go out of my way to seek it out.

Price of Maotai has gone crazy in the last few years!

It's much cheaper in the States! The price is like unreal in China. I refused to bring maotai and some other Chinese baijiu (like wu liang ye, five-crops baijiu) back to China for my friends, because it's too much work and I'm lazy... But I gave up for a few times by buying it for them in the airport of Beijing, so there was less carrying work on my side. It's cheaper in Chinatown than in the airport of Beijing, which is a lot cheaper than inside Chinese border... just like the price of the (in)famous sea dyke oolong :shock:

Like puerh: crazy prices, lots of it is fake, and only the super rich or extremely well-connected get the genuine top grade stuff! :mrgreen:

In that sense, baijiu is much better. The most expensive ones are generally less expensive than the most expensive teas and there aren't as many urban legends or market hypnosis either :wink:
