Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
Terrible phone photo, but I was anxious to post something from the unloading of the wood kiln this morning. Shigaraki inspired claybody on this little teacup. Really fun, the feldspar chunks ooze out the clay forming little pearls of "glaze" in the surface.
Much more to come later when the camera battery charges up

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
A few more pictures from the unloading. These are mostly Chawan because it was sort of focus for me this firing. I also made a lot of smaller teacups though, just couldn't get to taking pics tonight. So much photography to do, which I dread I'm also going to try to take short video of these while rotating them on a wheel. I think it's kind of important to see them on motion in that way to get a feel for the piece.
Here's an Ido inspired chawan, I made a bunch of these. My standard shino and the same glaze with iron in it.
Still have some sanding to do on the foot.
a better picture of the piece I posted earlier.
I dig this chawan, drama

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
Thanks folks
That chawan is pretty wild. It's always a bit overwhelming after a firing. So much to look at and take in. I feel like I've improved a little in terms of making appropriately chawan forms and sizes. I really had to start drinking matcha to understand, love the stuff now.
This one might be my favorite.

All the exteriors shown look great, Shawn (yeah the last one looks especially awesome). Of course for a chawan ... the interior is just as important. Hope to see some interior images soon!
I bet your etsy store views have SPIKED in anticipation!!!

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
I'll post some interiors and feetsies soon Chip
Speaking of kodai, I've really been making an effort to make more pronounced, elevated feet on my work. A bit of a learning curve for me because a kept getting cracks during drying. Finally figured it out though. Here's a teacup with said foot.

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
Yeah, John it's fun stuff. I'm kinda bummed that while loading the kiln I completely looked over a whole bin of work I did with that clay, along with a bunch of porcelain cups. Oh well, I guess I have a jump on the next firing
I had a bunch of these in that bin I forgot about too, so this round I have very few of these and the go quick Just an FYI for all you teaware hounds Very opal-like this time, which is really hard to capture in a photo.

A warm, subtle chawan here with requested interior and kodai view. I think the iron-red/orange of the clay color will really make matcha look nice
