I have never ordered from sevencups but have had their name recommended to me as a source ... maybe for Dan Cong? Can't remember. Please don't be shy about updating us on your experience with your order ... maybe even a brief tasting note if you can.

I wonder if their name refers to the ancient poem "seven bowls of tea" by Lu Tong.

By the way, here's the worst translation possible of this poem, courtesy of Wikipedia:

The first bowl of tea moistens my throat,
the second breaks my loneliness, and
the third bowl racks my brains, bringing to light the texts of 5,000 volumes.
The fourth induces perspiration whereby all ills evaporate through my pores.
The fifth makes my muscles and bones feel light, and

I've had some of their wuyi yancha and was suitably impressed. I can't really speak for their other teas, though. My general feeling about them is overall positive, though.

Overall Goodness Level = Excellent

The tea arrived promptly, in what appears to be vacuum-sealed foil packages, well-labeled. Tea is fresh, and I like that the harvest-year is printed on the label of each package.

I will order from them again. Still have to check out TeaSpring.Com as well.

I think I might have done better ordering the slightly lower grade of Long Jin, given the price of the Shi Feng, but I like to at least try a tea if it is very expensive, because sometimes the price dopes indeed translate to a taste-explosion of awesomeness...

Yep...I am all for going for the gusto, you never know what tea will be come your favorite of all time.

One thing I must say for the premo Long Jings, they are spectacular looking. I often consider them to be works of art. Opening the tin, seeing such beauty that awaits, spooning it out and appreciating the aroma as it permeates most of the room.

And this is all before water even hits the leaf.

But the owner has no idea that theres anything outside the borders of Gods own country, US of A..
And has the owner removed the shipping info or has all the customers blindly clicked "Yes I agree" with the shipping policies...

I think I said I never ordered from them, but I have heard several reports of their mainland knowledge of tea. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee a good internet experience.

The one person I who has first hand experience with them lives there and has the advantage of visiting the store. She loves that experience.
