What do you think of this zhuni pot?

Hi guys!


I would like to know what do you think of this "zhuni" pot? I have never seen a low ( or medium as stated) zhuni fired pot like this before. But my experience is very limited.

I am not familiar with this vendor, I mean I have never placed an order with them yet. Apparently they are located in Malaysia.

As PM, it certainly doesn't seem Zhuni at all, a Factory-1 clay at best.

The pot is an imitation of ROC..huge-head and four-leg 溪

It does exist, low-fired pots or Zhunis earn more stains after long time of using than high-fired ones..speaking of seasoned quality, high-fired one wins.

I only have a purportedly old cheap pot that is low fire ,qing shui ni, and it doesn´t look seasoned as you are explaining but it got some stains.

You mean that a low fire pot doesn´t seasoned so well in that it doesn´t shines like a high fire pot right? Or you meant something else?

I saw the pot a while back and am somewhat skeptical about this particular claim.

I have corresponded some with the owner of the shop. While some of the tea, and some of the pots, are good, I think some of the age claims, as well as some of the claims about the material, are a little unlikely -- I'm not sure if he is intentionally misleading people, or just misinformed about certain items. The prices range from "in the right ballpark" to "kind of high".

I'm merely speaking from my experience or claims made by other people. Relatively high-fired pots have more pronounced colors, like late-Qing~ROC or Factory-1 pots..difference gets bigger as time goes by, I've seen people claim they brew teas better..but this I didn't notice.

Have you tried any Dayi from them? I am asking because I wanted to buy some whole pieces from them. After trying their samples of course. The problem is that I've never tried some of the teas I want to sample so I can´t tell if they are the real thing. Maybe I will buy something I own first. Just to make sure...

We should probably split this portion of the discussion over to the pu'er forum.

The only Menghai tea I can remember trying from them is the orange-in-orange, which I think is good tea. It's dryer stored than the other orange in oranges I've had, but still is smooth and showing some maturity. I would just try the sample and buy a full piece if you like it, whether or not it's the "real thing".

I agree, it doesn't look like zhuni, though is it interesting to anyone else that the last photo, with two, has a pot on the left that has more luster and the nice little ripples? If anything, I could that on be zhuni? If so, kind of odd to post it next to what looks like hongni to me. Strange.

Well I thought it weird too. And I would buy the left one as zhuni probably. But I am a beginner after all. In the website it says that the "zhuni (hongni)" on the right will look like the one on the left after 2 months of use. It may be true but that won´t make it a zhuni anyway.

The only thing that makes it a zhuni is the price to a certain extent
