Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
My after breakfast cup is sencha Unro from Ippodo. A very easy drinker.

Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Yesterday I had my first cup of sencha in ages--unpacked the tea and surprise!, there was still one kyusu's worth of Honyama sencha from Yuuki-cha. It had been opened quite a while ago, but it was still sweet and fresh and delicious. The day was too chaotic to have the time to report it, however. Today, enjoying more An Ji Bai Cha. I haven't settled on a new tea spot yet, but the new house is proving welcoming to tea.

Today I'm drinking the last of my Gyokuro Shouen. I would be sad to see it finished if I didn't have an unopened bag of Tsurujirushi waiting in the wings.

Still working on the last few grams from that bag of O-Cha's Organic Sencha Gold I had saved.
I also have Maiko's budget sencha "Kamo" open. I always enjoy this one. Really good for the price.
To be honest, however, I can't help but think about next year's teas!

opened a bag of "organic gokujo sencha" from yuuki.
i need a little change from all the fukamushi chas , so i tried this asa.
this uji tea is picked on the the 88th day of spring and its a blend of yabukita & komakage.
it brews a bright yellow cup with strong umami and a very buttery taste.

An evening cup of OC's sencha karigane "Musashi" (Tsuen). A very harmonious blend with just enough zip to keep it interesting.

And look for the preOTTI hype soon! There will likely be at least 3 Gyokuro OTTI Rounds in succession ... it will be a grand journey indeed!
Oh, dare I say a Gyokuro NOTTI is also in the works???
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
I'm glad I'm alone in the kitchen with my tea so I don't need to explain why I was staring at my iPad and cheering!
Once I learned to brew Gyokuro in my O-Cha Gyokuro set I've never met a gyo I didn't like, and there has been the occasional love match. With Sencha unfortunately my skewed taste buds leave me struggling to find the right balance of sweet and bitter. Like now, when I'm drinking a tea from the latest OTTI. It's good enough to drink, but not good enough to want more.

This will not be in the first Gyokuro round ... but it will be in one of the upcoming rounds. KAME from O-Cha ... this is the 4th steep which is still remarkably sweet and flavorful ... not simply tea water.

12 Zi Sun Cha - (Purple Bamboo Shoot) from JK Teas -
Intoxicating aroma from dried leaves. Grassy with slight fruity undertones and a nice floral finish. Pretty good stuff.

Hibiki-An Kuradashi super premium. this is an awesome flavor explosion of deep, rich, vegetal, sweet, briny, and thick Umami!
