NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!
NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!
Call it Teaware Current Events. Or perhaps What Teaware are You Using Now? Or Teaware of the Day!
We have these topics for every type of TEA under their respective forums of TeaChat which has pretty much replaced TeaDay.
So, now here is a topic for you to share what teaware you are using today (or yesterday, etc. if you are a tad late) including but not limited to teapot, cup, tray/table, caddie, scoops ... whatever you happen to be using and want to share with us! Whatever type, origin, etc. Share with us one or more photos and perhaps some explanation. Share what you are drinking.
The photo does not have to be "perfect." Trust me, mine will not be. All skill levels are welcome to join in. Realism, abstract, whatever. Nikon compositions to phone photos, whatever you can do.
You can post multiple settings on the same day as your teaware use changes.
So take some photos of your daily tea and share with us! THANKS!

Kickin' things off ...
Began this TeaDay with lots of K's.
Put Kuritawase sencha in the Kenji Kyusu to brew ... then poured into an ecclectic pair of Kashun tebineri guinomi ... set upon Kamakura Bori tray and chataku.
Oh, and Koi the cat is the buddinski.

Tea Two ... Asanoka sencha. Two eyed "Fuji" peers out above the sea of fukamushi-cha.

Hopefully time will tell in this topic! All I know is I have a phone anyway, and a Nikon costs a LOT of tea and teaware.
So, I empathize with the phone photographers ... but appreciate the finer photos of members as well. (how is that for diplomacy???)

Your objection should be filed in the form of a Canon Teaware of the Day photo!

I have enjoyed using this one for around 4 years and still really like using it. I suspect it precipitated my interest in Kamakura Bori. I recently asked Toru if Kenji made a smaller version, so far the answer is no.
I think this is a reduction fired piece, then the pot goes through a sanding or polishing process which brings out the red that lies beneath.
Not all of Kenji is ... appealing to me ... http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/tokoname/kenji/wh_neridotkyusu.html

Teaware two of the day. One of our TeawareArtisans, Petr-Yaki custom created the kyusu based upon a back and forth exchange of ideas. The result was this honey colored and smoother snakeskin. Has a great feel! Fuji Sencha from Thes du Japon.

I really like Petr's kyusu handles, bulbous so the feel quite nice in the hand versus jabbing ...
