I drank darjeeling w/ milk & sometimes bought samples of single estates while regularly drinking blends (mostly from Upton). W/milk I could not taste difference that justified so much of a higher price for single estate.

Are you drinking this straight? What is your preparation?

Thanks.

Kudos to Jessica at TeaSource for great customer service. Super quick response to my questions, had my order packed and ready to go before I even sent the payment, and threw in a couple nice samples.
Definitely pleased with the quality of their teas and service!
Very interesting comments, minor_glitch.

I have been eyeing Tea Source for some time, and have seen favourable reviews from others. However, you are first one from my "neck of the woods" that has posted comments about the company.

As their website does not allow online ordering from Canada, how did you place the order, remit payment, ask questions, etc.?

Thanks.

Best wishes,
sherubtse

Here's the email they sent me:

Yes, we can ship to Canada. Our current website, however, does not have an option for international shipping. We are in the process of building a new website that will not have this problem. In the mean time to place an international order you may either call our toll free number (877 768 7233) or place you order via email.

Simply send your shipping address and a list of the names of the teas or products you would like. I will assemble your order and get back to you with an exact shipping cost. (I typically send international orders via First Class International, it tends to be the least expensive, but I can also send orders via Priority mail.) Keep in mind, also, that orders over 4 lbs (including box and packing material) cannot be send via First Class and therefore the shipping price does increase considerably.

I will need to secure your credit card information before I ship your order. You are welcome to send that information either phone or email. (some people prefer to send the last 4 digits and expiration in a separate email.)I know this is a little complicated. Hopefully the new website will be up soon and this process will be drastically simplified.

So yeah, I just sent them my credit info through email. Package showed up 9 days later.

Gaiwan-brewed Darjeeling via Kathmandu, Nepal. Very nice--my first time ever trying loose Darjeeling and it reminds me of good new sheng pu erh without the bitterness.

Well I ordered 2oz each of 5 teas, and shipping was $6.95.
Packaging was fairly standard. Not vacuum sealed, but those usual heat sealed, resealable plastic bags. They look nice, but the clear strip to show the tea may not be the best idea.

Good Green Tea -Ssangkye Tea Company- Black Tea Sejak.

Rather light and delicate but after quite a few steeps it still packs a punch! ( Thats not shocked, that Wired!)

Adam, I read that company's description & noticed "w/ long aftertaste" which is a characteristic I value. However, it is quite expensive; so I ask you: Is so special to cost so much more than most blacks?

Ethan, If you like your black teas to be strong and punchy than this tea is not for you. It does have a long after taste but it is easy to miss, as in general this tea is on the delicate side of things. I will say that I have caught both TAD (teaware acquisition disorder), and have a recurring case of KTA (Korean Tea addiction). As such I like to keep on trying Korean Teas.

I like this tea, but I am not sure if it is completely worth the price.

I'm having a cup of Nilgiri black, probably my favorite black tea. Lovely dark orange brown, great balance between sweetness and strong black tea taste.

Drinking a few cups of Imperial Pure Bud Yunnan...Simao Buds from YS--that is very sweet tea. After 3 long days of retailing at Xmas International Bazaar, I found myself munching cookies & cake; then, I got smarter & made this tea late at night instead of early in morning. Always delicious & at this moment quite appropriate.

Sipping some Black Tea Sejak, from Good Green Tea. Hitting the spot when brewed Grandpa style.
