I got a Teavana "yixing" teaset from my parents. I'm really touched that they took it on themselves to research Chinese tea to find something they thought I'd like, but I don't have the heart to tell them that they paid about 10x too much for something I'll likely never use.

Same here almost haha, my partner gave me the "forbidden kingdom: imperial reserve" tea collection from Teavana, I didn't have the heart to say it actually wasn't great tea (although the white pearls and dancong included was nice).

It made me so happy that he went to the effort yo try and get the best he could find though!!

At this point the tea needs are very few--occasionally I find myself thinking, it would be nice if I had another one of these or something just a little different...so that it's really best to pick out those particular things myself. I have a few things reserved from Petr Novak's latest offerings to help fill in one particular hole in the collection.

Nevertheless, there was one inevitable random mug gift....

Got more than enough tea related stuff. I WOULD like a hagi shibo set eventually but it's not life or death.

A co worker got me some nice cups though :)

Gonna have to brew some shin ryoku into one this morning.

I also decided to gift myself this year. I got a new gaiwan, several tools for making matcha, a bamboo tray, and an electric kettle. The electric kettle is turning out to be the best present of them all so far.

Sorry for delay... couldn't remember my password :(

I made a list of about 7 or 8 teas that I was looking at, and let my parents and husband choose when/if to give them. (My birthday and Xmas are 11 days apart.) Had gotten a mini-cake and tuocha for aging, and one of my favourite office stand by teas.
