Wow that is a huge difference between the two liquor colors. Was that the actual 2nd brew (meaning was there one rinse and then one first brew and then came this as the second brew) or was this the first brew after a rinse?

Ok good yeah that looks a little closer to what the real 88 QB's liquor color is. It's interesting how dark your drippings were though. Caught me off guard for a minute there!

Measuring the height of your pour B?

Edit
When I first looked at the pic I thought you where had your yixing at the top of the tape measure. I just realized you where probably showing the size of the cups?

Not sure bro but you've got some right in front of you :) In the area of 50-60ml.

Next time I drink aged puer, I will try to remember to put a color checker in frame.

I'm spending the afternoon with a 1960s Wang Zi loose leaf sheng that EoT used to carry. I last tried this tea almost 3 years ago. It has a brightness and a surprising sweet quality. Smooth and gentle. Very nice. I want another cup, but I want to enjoy this feeling.... must relocate tea kettle closer....

I remember that one. To bad it's gone.

Nice cup.

I spent my day with the 70s da ye from EOT.

B,
When you say those white cups are 50-60 ml are you talking about filled to the very tip of the rim or like 3/4th or something?

Thanks gn, the cup is the hagi 'tempest' special offering from a few years back. It's my go-to cup. I'm sure that it's had well over a few thousand cups of tea at this point! :D

How is the 1970s? I haven't had that one, only the 1980s that is also long gone.

The 1960s has faded into that faint hint (but still detectable) of lightness. I am doing 30min steeps as I do stuff around the house...

The 70s da ye is a great tea for a mature tea that is not so expensive you don't have to make it a special occasion to drink it. There have even been moments when I feel like I can still pick up some bulanginess from its youth. The storage was much better than any of EOTs other loose sheng. The loose 70s houde right now is probably a more interesting tea, but it has a good amount storage funk

No Puerh today. It's been along time since that happened.

Looks tasty, SC, how was it?

I was looking through a bunch of samples I have on top of my pumidor, and I found a sample from a 90s Menghai brick that Hou De sold (briefly!) a few years back. I thought I would brew that one up and enjoy it throughout the day. This tea is just absolutely high-order on the woodiness, I really love it, and since I haven't had lunch yet, I've got a nice head-buzz going, too.

I swear that EVERY weekend for the last couple of months here has been cloudy, so the lighting hasn't been that great. But on the flipside, it's actually quite warm here today (I think that's happening a lot around the US right now; it's 50F right now, supposed to hit 63F), so I took a shot outside. If you look closely, you can see a me-shaped blob...!
