NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!
Re: NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!
Mystery sencha brewed in Kenji Kyusu. Shawn Guinomi upon Kamakura Obon (tray) ... compliments the Kenji ... don't you think?

That's the fun of having a variety of teawares to mix and match, sleeker vs rougher, colorful vs earth toned, etc.
And very nice how Chip's tray and kyusu play together in the photo above vs the chawan hovering about and above it all....

New Kashun ball-shaped Hohin getting a christening with what else, Gyokuro. Great little Hagi-Yaki Hohin!!!

Tiny Petr-Yaki cups well suited for Gyokuro.

I think I have an older brother of that same hohin. Picked it up a few yrs ago from AN. To this day, my fave piece for brewing gyokuro and fine sencha. Used it a few days back for a sencha Kaboku session.

Today ... well technically yesterday ... broke in the straight-sided version Kashun Houhin , and it performed admirably. Again Petr-Yaki cups.

Vacuithe,
The Kyusu is lovely, but please tell us more about that cup lurking in the corner! It looks rough but oddly refined, but its cut off and at an odd angle for showing off the cup.
Nice set up!

Love the glaze on the Teapot and Fair Cup! Just curious is it "lumpy" or does it only look 3D/ textured?

a few more pics of this kyusu.
I can't tell you more, sorry. I should ask the potter
this teapot is a very successfull blend of japanese/corean/chinese styles, with potter's personnal touch.
