Looking for a porcelain Hohin for Sencha
I've found this (simple, plain, elegant and functional.)
I'd appreciate opinions and suggestions.

Artistic Nippon's offering is a very high grade ... and price.
Less expensive. Maiko has a few porcelain offerings.

I'm just curious why you need one. That pot in your avatar looks good for sencha and if its the same one I have it about the size you are looking for too.

Seriously though, if I am going to drink GOOD HQ Gyokuro, I would want at least one Houhin.

Yeah I wasn't really being serious with that suggestion. Its too high for my comfort ...but you never knowChip wrote:Artistic Nippon's offering is a very high grade ... and price.
Anyway out of the two plain ones in this thread I'd lean towards Chips more. Shape looks good.

BTW, is there a reason why you are searching for porcelain over ... clay?
Just wondering.

Thanks for the replies so far, everyone. I owe a lot this community's kind help when it comes to my tea-drinking experience.
Chip, I just prefer neutral materials over ones that "enhance" or alter the tea's flavour. At this point, I'm just not a fan of what clay does to my tea. Though I keep experimenting with my Tokoname pots nevertheless.

Fair enough.
Oddly, I have never purchased a Tokoname Houhin or Shiboridashi. However I have had very good results with Hagi, Bizen and Shigaraki as well as from Petr (one of our Teaware artisans).

Oh I do have some glazed stoneware from Petr, and they're neutral enough, and beautiful as well.
HIGHLY recommended.
